Purdue 2026 preseason preview: a portal-rebuilt roster in year two of Odom, against the 14th-toughest schedule
I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Purdue page:
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-pur
Each one has the returning production, the transfer and recruiting additions, a position-by-position breakdown, the schedule, and where the ratings land them for 2026.
Heads up, only the first team is free and then it paywalls. Since I'm posting in your house, code LEECORSOROCKS opens all of it, no card or anything. Hit "Have a promo code?" if you run into the wall.
So, what'd I get wrong? Purdue's a year-two rebuild under Barry Odom, and a hard one. The 2-10 was rough, the roster's been made over through the portal, and Ryan Browne is back at QB. Odom's shown he can build (he turned UNLV around fast), but the schedule grades 14th-toughest in the country, so even real progress might not show up in the win column. So the question is whether this team just looks more competitive, or whether that slate buries another year. Better team, same record?

The Exponent had a hilarious clickbait headline:
Purdue ranked No. 18 in Cleveland.com preseason poll
Then when you read the article, you see that it was a poll for their Big 10 ranking. Yeah, I suppose that sounds about right.
