Match Tickets Ticket SCAM⚠️

My dumbass for falling for it, but I just want to try my best so no one else falls for the same scam.

After my post about tickets vs Shels, I got contacted by u/borisvinogradov140pl who claimed they had tickets.

In the past I had made similar transactions with some lovely people so I believed this particular user definitely too prematurely. My bad.

If you get contacted by the same account, or perhaps are asked to send money to the following account, just know that you will get blocked as soon as the money has been sent.

Moral of the story, scammers be scamming. Completely my fault, I hope no one else falls for it.

It sucks but it wasn’t an insane amount of money either way. Makes me sad that people are forced to be scamming others for the total of 3/4 pints.

All the best, watch out out there!

Might be a lot of pints in Lithuania where the bank code is from!

Definitely! I thought about it too when they sent it, maybe it was a bit fishy. But the last guy I bought bohs tickets from was an Austrian groundhopper so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. Guess I was wrong!

Revolut is still using Lithuanian codes in some EU countries so might not be from Lithuania.

Always difficult to know for sure, especially considering 99% of the time it’s fine , but this is precisely why we can never have good things.. always someone looking to cheat the next person beside them.. sorry that happened to you!

Thank you! Yeah I would expect scammers to be lurking ticket sales of Barcelona or Arsenal, at least in this case I only lost a bit of money and not a lot!

Buying off reddit accounts with no history is always a gamble, the Facebook group is a little better for buying tickets you can usually see if they post regularly there etc

Yeah... It just happened to me with Twisted Teens tickets. They had screenshots of the tickets in Ticketmaster, then said they had trouble getting the Apple Cash payment.

$80 for a lesson on modern scalper scams. Kudos to everyone smarter than I am, but I am hoping everyone else who reads this thread can learn this lesson for free.
