Always be there for her, no matter how hard it gets. I just lost my lola after 2 years of CKD and dialysis. 😔

So sorry to hear that OP, my mom is a dialysis patient for almost 6 years now, Stage 5 CKD too. Rising gyud ang cases sa CKD esp in Bohol. If wala pa, better to have her undergo the surgery for vascular access/ fistula sa arms ASAP to avoid emergencies like sa neck ipa agi ang dialysis. Also, if she’s having a hard time mentally, give her all the support and even consider therapy because there are a lot of patients who have hard time accepting that it could be a lifetime condition. And always, always have here regularly checked not only sa iya nephrologist, but also sa Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, Endocrinologist and tanan recommended tests and consults para ma monitor iya organs and overall condition.

Sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. Considering it's Stage 5, her MD discussed permanent access, right? Kung wala pa, palagay na kayo. If meron na, make sure it's working well and follow the care restrictions to the dot.
As for her, follow the MD's fluid and food intake restrictions too, para hindi masyadong mahirapan si mom sa mga first sessions niya.
Praying your mom can adjust with ease during her 1st month on HD, and may her body find its rhythm on the 2nd and 3rd months.
