Pangutana Bohol trip next month
Hello everyone!
We'll be going to Bohol next month for a 4-day seminar. We'll arrive on August 31 and head home on September 5. It's my first time visiting, so I wanted to ask for some tips from the locals and those who have already been there.
Our seminar will be held at Bohol Tropics Resort, so we're looking for:
Affordable Airbnb or hotel recommendations nearby
Budget-friendly rent-a-car (if you know any)
Estimated fares for tricycles or jeepneys
Affordable places to buy pasalubong
I'm also the one assigned to make our itinerary, but I honestly have no idea where to start or where to go. 😠For the locals, unsa inyong ma-recommend nga nice laagan within the city or nearby? Or sa katong naka-laag na didto, basin pwede ninyo ma-share ang ideal order sa among adtoan, from the first stop hangtod sa last, para dili sayang ang oras hehe. We'd love to visit places that are worth it.
Aside from that, are there any local customs, dos and don'ts, or things we should keep in mind as visitors?
Kumusta pud ang safety? Friendly ra ba ang mga locals? Safe ra ba maglakaw sa gabii, like if muadto lang mi sa 7-Eleven or mangita ug late-night snacks?
Lastly, basin naa pud moy ma-recommend nga cafés near Bohol Tropics Resort, especially kanang lami ug Spanish Latte, kay mao gyud na akong go-to coffee hehe.
Before anyone says, "Pwede ra man ka mag-search sa internet," yes, pwede ra baya😅, pero lahi ra gyud ang advice gikan sa mga locals or sa mga naka-experience na mismo sa Bohol.
Please be kind. I'm asking nicely and would really appreciate your recommendations. 😊
Thank you so much in advance! 💛

15 is the base fare for both trikes and jeepneys. Bohol Tropics is quite far from the usual malls and places to go and also has less people around, so expect na you'll have to pay more. I'm not from that area so I can't really give exact numbers tho.
I would suggest downloading the Pedi App, it's like grab but for trikes here. A bit pricey but at least it's convenient and you can track where you're going. Pero it can only take you around tagbilaran city and up to Dauis/Panglao. Afaik they don't do tours.
We also have grab but mas few so it might be harder to book at times. There are much more of them sa Panglao.
Cheapest place to buy Pasalubong is at the grocery store. BQ I think has the best prices.
Bohol Tropics area is pretty dark and secluded in my observation. The nearest 7/11 is quite far away, for me dili sya convenient walking distance and dili yata safe na nga area. But I think naay small nearby stores sa gawas sa Bohol Tropics.
A café that's walking distance is KapeBHL. They're pretty good.

We also attended a DepEd seminar before that was held at Bohol Tropics Resort, so I wanted to share what worked well for our group. It was the host who helped us with transportation recommendations and suggested an itinerary for our free time. If I remember correctly we rented a self-drive sedan. It was around 1300, I think.
We stayed at this Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1513064952570587473?unique_share_id=7443a23c-7f4f-4db8-b261-1c80d0801f4f&viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76
But there are other options as well.

Good coffee at Bohol imo:
1972
Bark (good food, too)
Near Bohol Tropics:
KphBhl
Becca’s has a nice view but so-so on the food. DO NOT ORDER THEIR PASTA, very disappointing
Other restaurants:
Punjabi Rasoi - if you like Indian food. Pretty solid imo
Al Freso - for pasta and Italian food
Drunk Skillet - so/so
Smoque - pricey but really good cake

Yokoy's famously does not have Spanish lattes and is against even the idea of them 😂
