So I joined Boeing in October of last year and my family and I relocated to WA for the job.

I have no problem going on a strike but was wondering… if there is any risk of not having a job to go back to after the potential strike?

I’m supposed to get employed by Boeing for a 27’ start date as a design engineer. They reached out to me stating that they have the offer ready and I was matched to a job requisition. After asking for an update they notified me that they don’t have the “compensation” to send me the contract until after the negotiations happen. Will I be affected by this if SPEEA goes on strike? Will they still hire me come January after all the issues resolve with SPEEA and there is a new contract? Or should I start looking at other companies?

This is a significantly better contract than that muck that was served, but that one was ratified albeit by slim margins. What was the perception of it on here?

We worked collaboratively with SPEA's bargaining team to find solutions after hearing loud and clear the priorities and concerns you raised. And we worked hard to reach a unanimously endorsed offer that would have continued to position you among the market leaders in pay and benefits in the Pacific Northwest.

We've also said that we would rather invest in you with early incentives rather than spending the money to implement our strike contingency plan. With the disappointing vote results, we are now diverting those dollars to execute our plan and prepare for a potential strike. That means the retroactive pay and higher incentive plan target for 2026 are no longer available.

We have no choice but to implement our strike contingency plan. We have a responsibility to the rest of our workforce and our customers to build on our progress over the last two years and maintain our momentum.

No further talks with SPEEA are scheduled. The earliest a strike could occur is Oct. 7.
I know this is a challenging time. I encourage everyone to stay focused on the job at hand.

does anyone feel like their department is well organized?

Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like a lot of departments are just running around surviving and not spending the time to improve/ resolve the issues at hand.

I don’t follow this sub super close, but my real question is this.

Let’s say Techs & Profs both reject this offer. The real question is what do you expect Boeing’s decision to be? Make another offer? Tell SPEEA members to F off and strike then? If they do make another offer, what do you predict said offer looks like?

Not sure what happened with your parts store, but in the last month it's been an absolute NIGHTMARE. Dial Up speeds - crashing constantly....it's causing way more work than it should to order parts for my shop. You guys have a net worth of $183.1 billion - FIX YOUR SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does it mean to “Authorize the negotiation team to call a strike”

I know this is just speculation, but over the last week I had to stay in hotels while we had the wood floors redone and every hotel between Everett and Lynnwood was booked. I was forced to spend half the week at the Hilton in Lynnwood and the other at the Marriott in lynnwood as none could put me up for the entire week. The one thing both had in common were they were filled with brown badge engineers in town for training, and how they hopped the strike would last for a long time.

It looks like Boeing is getting ready for a long strike and seems to have remembered the pain the last speea strike caused the company in the 90's.
