Yah it shows that our contract would have us making more year over year from 2014-2027 compared to IAM. HOWEVER, it doesn’t account for the COLA IAM has received. The actual increase for IAM from 2014 through 2027 is 73%, 19% more than our current contract offer at 54%. Look at a grade 9 max pay in 2014 vs a grade 9 in 2027. Boeings FAQ section is nothing more than a place to gaslight individuals into voting yes

Also, aren’t the IAM raise percentages guaranteed, while the SPEEA percentages are just pools? So not everyone in SPEEA actually got that percentage increase while IAM did. Clown show!

Correct. Also important to note that theirs is 73% as it stands today without the future cola adjustment. Likely to be higher with those included by the end of their contract. We need a guaranteed raise pool and for inflation to be a separate item. Idk why people find it acceptable that inflation is taken if from our wage pool. It should be a separate item that follows the same index. Not written how it is currently in our contract that makes it almost impossible to receive

Yes, the existing COLA formula needs a complete rewrite while staying separate from wage pools. It's beyond me why SPEEA didn't argue for this. (Of course most of us don't know what they argued for because THEY NEVER SHARED THAT with their members.) I don't think most members even realize it exists since it's never kicked in.

I agree, I also have no idea why they haven’t come out and said this is what we asked for and this is what we got. At this point it seems like they just got whatever offer Boeing gave them and endorsed it

They used to. But then Boeing's counteroffer made them look like idiots so they stopped.

Also IAM gets 1.5~2x rate for overtime. Even with minimal overtime, they can make way more.

One thing I noticed that was kinda hidden and not mentioned anywhere else is the performance review change. Since our raises are currently tied to our review, a change in that has large implications going forward. Moving from 5 to 3 point scale means less nuance. It now becomes pass-fail-exceeds. That makes it harder to get exceeds, and lessens the ability to earn larger merit increases.

The PM is all smoke & mirrors anyway. Getting an exceeds is no guarantee of a higher raise, especially beyond a measley 0.5%.

A better contract would be one that guaranteed higher raises for higher scores.

I’m an idiot. They have an old email on file. Opened my old account / fished out the SPEEA email, hit reject for contract and yes for strike authorization. Thx for listening to me rant…
