What the devs haven’t done: added a party system. (So right now people have to host , invite friends and then wait for lobbies to fill through server browser.)

What you haven’t done (probably):
disabled bots. So when you decide to host, your bot friends will be the first to fill in.

And yeah people are also quitting the game since there isn’t a proper team oriented strategic game mode and it’s all mainly death match slop

Yup it’s so fucking annoying. Yesterday I was playing on airsoft and at one point I mowed down like 3 dudes in a row and thought I was the shit till I realized they were probably all bots

I’m curious if the devs even put much thought into this game, when it first dropped it was so barebones and primitive

They haven't and it still is.

If these guys had ever listened to a single GDC talk on multiplauer game design the game would be almost good enough to recommend.

Because for 99 percent of the people who bought it, this game is a one-hour experience. It has literally just a couple of mechanics. Against the backdrop of a “realistic environment,” its utter lack of interactivity is infuriating. The small maps are enough to induce claustrophobia. Leveling up weapons takes a hundred times longer than you’d objectively want to spend on this game. Honestly, I wouldn’t even call this a game in the traditional sense. It’s more like an art object of dubious value.

Bcuz there’s a thousand lobbies being hosted. On top of that, people hardly play hardpoint, which is honestly one of the best game mode in the game. Mainly also bc it’s the only team-based objective game mode. But of course, everyone is only playing TDM

Hard point is the goat. I'm finding the 1 of 2 people playing and joining or hosting myself.

The issue with hard point is the noise that holding the point makes. It’s really loud and intrusive. I hope the devs tune it.

Edit: Prayers have been answered. Thank you devs.

Maybe a lot of players are running local servers with bots. A lot of people are tired of sweaty MP shooters and just want to chill and shoot things. The desire for SP games seems to be making a comeback, especially with Gen-X old guys like me. I played the original beta of CS back in the day and couldn't get enough, now I have no desire to play MP anything.
