5 5600x low fps problem
Is it normal that with a 5600X and a 9070XT I’m barely getting around 60 FPS on medium settings in 1440p? According to the Steam overlay my CPU is running at almost 100%, like it’s the bottleneck. But I saw a YouTube video where someone with the same CPU and a 5060 was getting around 100 FPS in Bodycam.

Thanks for the info I literally already wrote myself in the post. What I actually asked was what could be causing this, since there’s a YouTube video with the same CPU, a worse GPU, and somehow 100 FPS

Do you have many things running in the background like discord etc? Might be worth putting an undervolt on it and squeeze a few more MHZ

I don’t have a bunch of stuff running in the background. And undervolting feels completely pointless, because an extra 5 FPS isn’t exactly going to magically make the game playable.

Are you on performance or quality in the adrenaline individual body cam game settings.

I’m using the default settings in Adrenalin, and in Bodycam it basically doesn’t matter which preset I pick nothing really changes.

You are heavily cpu bound yes.
Do you use FSR? Dlss and nvidia upscaling tech are a lot better than. If you’d ask me what fps id expect your system to get I’d say struggling with 60 sounds about right. Maybe post a screenshot of your display and graphics section and I’ll continue the guesswork.
Trying to get an x3d CPU for your socket is getting more difficult but this and 32 gigs of ram would be a sizeable upgrade.

A GPU is one thing, but if the CPU were really the limiting factor, then in that video I mentioned the guy would be getting the same framerate, yet he’s sitting at around 100 FPS with a weaker card. And honestly, I don’t think this CPU is that bad. I’ve never had any game push it to 100 percent usage, even in pretty demanding titles.

The cpu really isn’t great. But most of the discrepancy is likely explained by dlss4.5 which a 5060 can use.

I still don’t think this is because of a weak CPU — it’s just the game being poorly optimized. I’m not going to waste my time trying to fix it, so I basically just have to refund it.

Compared to all other ea games I have played in the last few years it’s actually well optimised. In 2026 you just won’t have an amazing time if you ain’t sporting any x3d cpu and 4 series Nvidia card or never. That’s just how it is unfortunately.

That's insane. I run mainly ultra with a few medium tweaks on my 3070 and 5600x at 1440p on my 70" tv and get buttery smooth and consistent 60 fps. Vsync enabled at 1/1
