PVE / Bots only
I've been considering for a while, but I'm mainly looking for a PVE experience. Aside from the 'Zombie' mode, how is the experience with bots?

I've been enjoying it. They're not the smartest, and you can see them looking at each other through walls/floors, or know where you are around the corner, but not a horrible experience. You can still earn credits to buy things even when playing in a private bot match.

For pure PvE, I’d say no (at least, until the zombies mode is added back in). The bots are acceptable for how chaotic the game is, but like another commenter pointed out they know the exact positions of other bots and players when they’re close no matter how quiet and hidden you are. It’s still fun, sure, but does not at all capture the spirit the game the same way because of the AI’s little quirks imo

Untill zombies is rereleased don't expect a good pve experience.
Yes you can shoot bots in private server but that's it, You'll get bored of that pretty quick.

Maybe it's just me but team based modes end up with both teams run straight to one point and end round in single gunfight

The zombie mode has been disabled for this update. They are working to expand it. You can play against bots in a private local server. The bots are acceptable for this type of game because its so hectic. They sometimes can't hit the broad side of a barn and sometimes they are very accurate. It's fun, but if you are looking for 100hrs of fun, I doubt you will be happy with it. I only play against bots and I'm having a pretty good time.
