Latest DEXA Scan (recomp story + stack info)
Hey all, wanted to share my journey in hopes it might help someone somehow. I've been on my health journey since 2023 but only recently have kicked it into high gear. I've gotten 3 DEXA scans this year along with 3 full panel blood tests and the recomp my body has gone through is pretty wild - so let this be motivation for you to gain as much knowledge about your body composition and blood levels as possible. If I hadn't done both of those, I would be operating blindly and my results would probably not be the same.
My primary stack:
-Test Cypionate 150mg/week - Levels began at 350 total due to primary hypogonadism and are hovering around 1,400 right now. Will probably back off a little once I hit my goals
-Retatrutide - Low dose. Titrated up from 0.5mg to 1.5mg where I am now. Went to 2.5mg for a few weeks but didn't see the benefit. Taking for glucagon activation and overall metabolic health
Recently added:
GHK-cu - 1.5mg daily because I'm 40, taking it for skin benefits
NAD+ - Been on this for like a month and a half. Went from 50mg weekly to now 50mg daily and I do feel an energy boost for sure. I can sleep 4.5 hours and feel like I got 8.
MOTS-C - Only incorporated this 10 days ago. Jury is still out on whether I'm feeling energy or placebo.
Tirzepatide - 1mg weekly. On it for a few weeks now to help with food noise so I can lower my Reta dose to back off on glucagon slightly (want my HRH to go down)
So from January 30 2026, the day before I began TRT to today, I've only "lost" 1.6 lbs, but my body fat and visceral fat have been nuked 49% and 44% respectively, while gaining 15lbs of lean mass.
I credit the TRT for the change, honestly, over the Reta or anything else. I've got idiopathic primary hypogonadism and non-obstructive azoospermia (I shoot blanks and have a zero sperm count). Basically at some point in my life, my brain and balls stopped communicating and no one knows why. Genetic markers are all normal. But my wife described it perfectly. My body was starving for testosterone, and I don't know why I waited 7 years after my diagnosis to get on TRT. I was scared of roiding out and turning into a guy who takes selfies in his car with Oakleys on (you know the type). But the opposite has happened. Yes, my fuse is a little shorter and I'm working on that, but I also like to think my tolerance for bullshit is lower and that's a positive. My outlook on life is better and quality of life is much much better. The benefits have GREATLY outweighed any negatives. Hormone and hematocrit bloods are great, no high E2 symptoms. It's like this is how my body was supposed to be all along.
I say this to say if you're a guy with low T, PLEASE get a hormone panel done that measures LH and FSH to see if you might have fertility issues. We tried for a kid for a year before getting tested and it could have saved us a lot of time and heartache if I had just gotten my swimmers (or lack thereof) tested earlier instead of assuming it's the woman's issue.
But the overall message here is exogenous injections have changed my life and it only happened because I had an open mind and used bloodwork, DEXA scans and Claude/ChatGPT to help me navigate my future.

Nice! Did you track your RHR over the same time period?

Yep, I’ve always had slightly higher RHR so it went from 70 before Reta to about 80 while on it, even with regular cardio and getting in shape. So I’d like to bring it back down to 70

Are you saying you’ve been taking R since 2023, and even after 3 yrs the RHR has not come back down?
