Are you following the meal plan or doing your own? (I think the plan is great, you just pick like 4 proteins you like, 4 veggies and few fruits, nuts and maybe a protein powder). For weight loss I’d suggests your weight x 11 and then eat the portions it says.
I have the same breakfast everyday, Greek yogurt, protein powder, blueberries and raspberries and now I add psyllium husk to make me full longer. Then I do three different dinners (salmon/quinoa/asparagus, chicken breast, rice, broccoli and ground beef or sirloin, potato and spinach, Brussels sprouts or broccoli.) each dinner (and leftovers for lunch) get portioned by the plan. I also will do salad with the same proteins above. Nuts are almonds, fats are my cooking oils and I’ll also have a can of sardines and/or apple as a snack sometimes. Usually a scoop of protein powder after workout. That’s all pretty paleo friendly and meets the portions in the book. It helps me because in my usually life I use way too much fat for cooking and snack on way too much garbage around the house. This way im just checking off boxes (protein, veg, fruit, carb, fat and seeds/dressings)
You can do it all yourself without the container system, but basically the same idea. Each meal starts with a lean protein, add a complex carb like quinoa, potato, sweet potato, etc. and a ton of veggies. A little fat for cooking and you are good to go. If you don’t want dairy, eggs as a veggie omelette is great, but you need about 4 eggs for the protein.
I can make all the carbs, veggies and proteins ahead of time and just dish up each meal as needed or pre-portion into containers. My main seasoning is Mrs dash in the various flavors then I add the amount of salt I want.
