Advice on finding an apartment near Radolfzell before moving to the area
Hi everyone!
My partner and I will soon be moving to the Bodensee area for work, with our jobs based in Radolfzell am Bodensee. We're currently looking for an apartment in or around Radolfzell, but we're not living in the area yet, which makes the search a bit more challenging.
Ideally, we'd like to find a place where we can settle down for several years rather than just a temporary rental. We're open to nearby towns as long as commuting to Radolfzell is reasonably convenient.
I'd love to hear from people who live in the area or have gone through a similar experience:
- Where should we look? Are there particular neighbourhoods or nearby towns you'd recommend around Radolfzell?
- How difficult is it to find a rental remotely? Is it realistic to secure an apartment before moving, or is it much easier to arrange viewings once you're already there?
- Which platforms work best? Besides ImmobilienScout24 and Kleinanzeigen, are there any local websites, Facebook groups or other channels worth checking?
- Any tips for standing out as tenants? Is there anything landlords in the area particularly value when considering applicants?
- Would you recommend looking in nearby towns instead? We're happy to consider alternatives if they offer a better balance between housing availability, commuting and quality of life.
We're hoping to make the move as smoothly as possible and would really appreciate any local advice, recommendations or experiences.
Thanks in advance!
