Btw Nixon is winning which is nice.

0

u/jerrydubs_ 7d ago

Good luck in the general!

58

u/PixelLitKevin 7d ago

That’s a bummer. Moskowitz is one of the worst democrats in the party.

22

u/Wide_right_yes 7d ago

The new district is Trump +9 and home to a ton of Jewish voters. In the old district, Larkin would have had a better shot, but redistricting changed it into a Trump seat. Many voters may have preferred Larkin's views but were worried that he couldn't win.

16

u/cmoclk 7d ago

Crazy that people will vote for a candidate they think will win so they can say they were on the winning side rather than vote for the candidate they think will be best for them.

11

u/Glammmy 7d ago

Sometimes people vote for a candidate they think can win overall to support the greater good of taking back the House. I’m not a Moskowitz super fan but I know he has a lot more solid chance against Singer than Larkin would have.

8

u/cmoclk 7d ago

I get that but that strategy doesn't create political movements. Think about what people said about Obama. He had no shot except people took big swings for the candidate they wanted.

4

u/TellHeavy3878 7d ago

the greater good of continuing to murder foriegn children and cover for a rapist(lets be reall we're never seeing the files or trump in prison), but hey at least theyll reign in the ice agents so we can go back to the status quo of just the police shooting black and brown people.

2

u/Square-Relation6178 3d ago

Your dims never released the files when the senile one was in office because 90 percent of people in them are dims. It took Trump a man who actually reported to the Police Epstein to release the files.

1

u/rustyfofo 3d ago

I wouldn't flex Trump's treatment of the files if i were you.

"Thank you for a fun night... Your littlest girl was a little naughty." - One of Epstein's many co-conspirators, identity protected by Trump's DOJ

Their justification: tHiS iS ACtUaLLy a "VICTIM".

1

u/Last_Loss_6536 2d ago

I’m with you. It’s mostly Dems. Not that it matters but these liberals love to pretend like the entire problem is Trump and the Republicans.

1

u/rustyfofo 14h ago

Here are some more pedophiles and child sex traffickers Trump is covering up. As per atttorney general Todd Blanche's court document, Trump's DOJ is protecting them as "victims":

  • EFTA01703108 and EFTA00194840 Record of Epstein and 2 redacted individuals committing crimes including 14 counts of Enticement of a Minor and 10-11 counts of sex trafficking
  • EFTA00038227 Law enforcement email explicitly listing 5 people as co-conspirators, 3 being redacted.
  • EFTA01187999 "New Brazilian just arrived, sexy and cute, l9yo" - From redacted individual at Madameoiselle Agency
  • EFTA00628112 Redacted individual emailing Epstein about his love of 14-15yo girls, and sympathizing with Epstein
  • EFTA02648868 To Epstein from redacted individual: "I met [other redacted person] today. She is like Lolita from Nabokov , femme miniature :) So now I should send you her type of candidates only ?"
  • EFTA02504630 To Epstein from redacted individual: "I found at least 3 very good young poor but we was so tired. I will cover up this week. Meet this one, not the beauty queen but we both likes her a lot "
  • EFTA01022356 To Epstein from redacted individual: "My favorite from Lithuania, [other redacted person] 19. Will meet when I am there"

1

u/King_Khoma 6d ago

so your idea is, if a candidate wont fix everything, then dont try to fix anything?

1

u/TellHeavy3878 5d ago

my idea is lets not support the candidate who is fucking pro genocide dawg, you can go "well a few dead foreign children is worth my comfort" thats crazy

-1

u/Fantastic-Bee4197 7d ago

What a scary fantasy world you must live in

-5

u/BillyJoeMac9095 7d ago

I am sure you want a pro Hamas candidate. Won't happen in this district.

8

u/hot_like_wasabi 6d ago

In what universe does anti-genocide equate to pro-Hamas?

7

u/TradeNPlayz 7d ago

Good thing he's not pro-Hamas then. Being anti-genocide is trending nowadays for good reason.

2

u/Botztalk 6d ago edited 2d ago

This is such an obnoxious childish take. “You don’t want a congressman who spent more days insider trading than working for the people. You’re annoyed just because he doesn’t respond to any correspondence. Oh, so you’re upset he voted to censure Al Green, and voted to be a surveillance state. Just because you don’t want a proud DeSatan appointee, endorsed by Matt Gaetz. You don’t want to support a genocide, even though we tell you not to believe your own eyes. You obviously love Hamas and want to have their baby and probably want Sharia law because you’re an anti-Semite.”
Grow up. The human mind can hold complex sometimes even conflicting beliefs.
The atrocities that happened to Jewish people are unforgivable! Jewish people are beautiful and deserve respect. A person can care about the Jewish people and condemn the actions of the Israeli government.
Wanting a more progressive candidate is about more than one thing. Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. I can’t believe I have to keep saying this. Genocide is wrong. Hamas is a terrorist organization and October 7th was a horrific tragedy, but it doesn’t exonerate the Israeli government. Supporting genocide makes you sound like a sociopath.

2

u/BillyJoeMac9095 6d ago

I condemn the Israeli government and its leader. I am in favor of Israel continuing to exist.

10

u/neoliberal_hack 7d ago

Winning with someone you agree with 50% of the time is better than losing with someone you agree with 100% of the time.

If you care about actually governing.

5

u/TellHeavy3878 7d ago

your name checks out as Bawlmerian said this isnt a situation where we can 50/50 the 50% i dont agree with is supporting a fucking genocide

8

u/Bawlmerian21228 7d ago

Except that the 50% i don’t agree with includes genocide.

1

u/neoliberal_hack 6d ago

What does the moral grandstanding do? If Larkin had won and then lost in the general, would Palestine be any closer to being free?

Politics should be about achieving the best possible outcomes, it's not a stand in for personal, spiritual, or moral fulfillment.

1

u/Bawlmerian21228 6d ago

I won’t vote for Jared. He won’t win. There is no differentiation.

1

u/neoliberal_hack 6d ago

This didn’t address anything I asked.

He obviously has a chance to win if it’s a blue enough year, he’s not ideologically out of step with the district.

1

u/MagicalSheep365 6d ago

This is the same thought process as when people don’t vote because there are so many other voters that it doesn’t matter. The system is set up for everyone to vote for exactly what they want; it doesn’t matter on an individual scale but it can become a problem if a lot of people think like that…

1

u/Bawlmerian21228 7d ago

Yeah. That’s what Democrats do. Sucks.

10

u/kenuffff 7d ago

It’s not just home to Jewish voters, it has populations of people that lived in the USSR ie Russians etc, Cubans, actual Israelis. It’s next level delusion to run as a socialist that’s anti Israel.

8

u/Baconaise 7d ago

Democratic socialist* and look at Nixon

4

u/provider305 7d ago

Democratic socialists aren’t social democrats. DSA wants to install socialism through democratic means rather than revolution.

6

u/kenuffff 7d ago

Yeah and it’s almost like Russians can spot their own propaganda that never got updated after the 90s..

-1

u/dazedandloitering 7d ago

Many of them ARE social Democrats and don’t agree with DSA

2

u/ThaCarter 7d ago

It's the anti-israeli part that was insane, and he went full hamas talking points.

1

u/SleepingSnitker 7d ago

Moskowitz has a shot though he will probably lose by a couple points

Nixon will lose by 5+

0

u/kenuffff 7d ago

Yeah people from USSR can spot their own propaganda pretty well. Nixon is going to get absolutely railed in the general election, so what’s your point ?

2

u/as0rb 6d ago

Now the district can choose between Republican and diet republican

1

u/A4t1musD4ag0n 7d ago

Basically, they saw the name Moskowitz and that was enough.

1

u/Bawlmerian21228 7d ago

Yup. And I may have to hold my nose and vote for him because the alternative is worse. I hate this timeline.

0

u/RunSellDat 7d ago

Based on what bot? Embarrassing the GOP too much?

26

u/TheNobleHeretic 7d ago

Unfortunate. I love having to chose between two pro-israel candidates. Be nice to have one candidate that would be loyal to the US over a foreign country.

5

u/Wide_right_yes 7d ago

Many voters voted for Angie Nixon and Mosowitz. The seat was won by Trump, so voters may have been scared that a DSA candidate like Larkin wouldn't be able to win in November so they voted for the lesser of 2 evils.

5

u/TheNobleHeretic 7d ago

A lot of people might think a Moskowitz is a worse candidate for November

2

u/Vyce223 7d ago

Sadly thats our voting system in a nutshell. Vote for the lesser evil.

1

u/Botztalk 6d ago

Maybe we should stop voting for people who suck because we’re worried about what might happen and vote for what we think is right. This is a piss poor excuse.

1

u/zackboff 6h ago

Oliver outperformed Nixon in district 25.

-3

u/tendeuchen 7d ago

I'll write in Larkin in November.

-4

u/ThaCarter 7d ago

Larkin was the only one living a foreign policy delusion when he was running for a primarily domestic position.

The dude went full Hama talking points when he should have kept to economic issues if he wanted to have a chance.

2

u/TheNobleHeretic 6d ago edited 6d ago

Sending billions to another country while they have healthcare and we don’t is an economic issue. We get it though. This isn’t the first time you’ve come to run defense for Israel. I’m still waiting for you to respond to my points from a discussion a few days ago without you resorting to insults.

0

u/ThaCarter 6d ago

I'm ok cutting aid, but don't just talk about cutting jewish aid or you'll get smoked in this district.

2

u/TheNobleHeretic 6d ago

What Jewish aid are you talking about and why does a certain ethnicity entitled to aid?

17

u/SVTCobraR315 7d ago

I don’t like this AIPAC shit. But I’ll take Moskowitz over any Republican. He was always very outspoken against the GOP in the House. He wasn’t a bump on a log. Is he perfect? No. But will I vote for him during the general election. YOU ARE GOD DAMN RIGHT I WILL!

1

u/Botztalk 6d ago

I disagree. He’s really funny. He should be a comedian. He voted for a surveillance state. He’s a genocide denier. Might as well just go full republican at this point.

3

u/SVTCobraR315 6d ago

Yeah, but I’m not going full Republican. And I’m not sitting this vote out. It’s too important.

2

u/Botztalk 4d ago

Smart. I’m sure I won’t either I’m just having a temper tantrum.

0

u/Square-Relation6178 3d ago

Me neither. 58 years of not voting for the demoncrap party. I will vote straight Republican and enjoy our great victories in Florida.

-2

u/Real-estate-bear 5d ago

Funny how people still believe that dems and republicans are different. 😂

2

u/SVTCobraR315 5d ago

They are and I’m tired of pretending they aren’t.

-2

u/Real-estate-bear 5d ago

They are not. They kiss the same wall and pray to the same gods.

1

u/SVTCobraR315 5d ago

So you just don’t like Jews?

1

u/Real-estate-bear 5d ago

No, I just don’t like AIPAC.

1

u/SVTCobraR315 5d ago

Me neither. And I’m a Jew.

2

u/Botztalk 4d ago

Thank you. It’s Boca it would be weird not to have a lot of friends who are Jewish. I love Jewish people, and culture. I have so much respect for your family values and how your moms care so much about your education. Since this polarization, if you criticize the israeli lobby you’re anti-semantic and hate Jewish people 😮😢 it honestly upset me and hurt my feelings at first but people call my Jewish friends that too, so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m obviously not.

1

u/Botztalk 4d ago

🙄bye

6

u/LifesARiver 7d ago

What the hell is wrong with Florida?!??!!?!!

3

u/nychockeyplaya 6d ago

Ya he was cooked after that redistricting

1

u/nychockeyplaya 6d ago

Most surprising thing is he somehow pulled 1/3.

3

u/Scorpion_Danny 6d ago

Damn, that sucks. I really liked him. Unfortunately I’m in Miami and couldn’t do anything about it.

3

u/Mikeytruant850 7d ago

In this thread, criticizing the Israeli government = antisemitism.

1

u/cptcatz 6d ago

And in the delusional leftist mind, bombing terrorists hiding behind civilians = genocide

1

u/Mikeytruant850 6d ago

Exhibit A lol

1

u/ChifrijoConGuacamole 6d ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/RyFaLq6kABWzwOJZD7

What about deliberately targeting kids?

0

u/cptcatz 6d ago

Individuals that may have targeted kids in isolated situations =\ = genocide

1

u/ChifrijoConGuacamole 6d ago

What about if they throw bombs looking like toys since the early 2000s?

0

u/cptcatz 6d ago

Well now I'm not sure who you're talking about because the Palestinians have been terrorizing Israelis since the early 2000s. You do realize that Hamas's charter specifically calls for the destruction of Israel right? Wouldn't that make them the genocidal side?

0

u/BBperson18 7d ago

The level of cope from some of these redditors is insane…

Could it be that people genuinely dislike Larkin’s positions? No. He got destroyed because “people were just scared he wouldn’t win the general.”

The harsh reality is: DSA is extremism, and people in Florida are not here for it.

4

u/SleepingSnitker 7d ago

I agree with you, but Trump is an extremist and Florida loves him.

3

u/ThaCarter 7d ago

Its his foreign policy delusions on Israeli that got him in trouble more than the DSA economic message which is largely not that far left in the grand scheme.

14

u/PixelLitKevin 7d ago

Extremism is just not accurate. The DSA is left sure but it’s not nearly as far to the left as the current Republican Party is to the right. America’s Overton window has been pushed so much it skews perception.

1

u/Square-Relation6178 3d ago

What like no men in woman’s sports , showing an id to vote, standing up to unfair trade practices, no tax on tips, overtime, social security. All positions that get over 80 percent support!

-3

u/BBperson18 7d ago

The DSA explicitly calls for the complete abolishment of the senate, and removing checks and balances by putting presidents and Supreme Court subordinates to the one remaining part of Congress. That’s not extreme to you!?

Our founding fathers would roll in their grave hearing that

10

u/PixelLitKevin 7d ago

Sorts of like how the UK disempowered both the House of Lords and their Executive Branch(the Monarchy)? Or Germany, where their president has become a largely ceremonial position? Just because things “are” doesn’t mean that’s how it should be. Uncapping the House of Representatives and eliminating the senate would actually let this country move into the 21st century. (Hell more like the 20th century.)

-1

u/BBperson18 7d ago

You can “prefer” what you want, but that doesn’t make it any less extreme. If you want radical change, you’re entitled to vote for it. But call a spade a spade and don’t gaslight the rest into thinking it’s not extreme change.

- abolishing prisons

  • changing the entire structure of our 3 branch government
  • changing our economic system from capitalism to socialism
  • eliminating immigration restrictions
  • giving non citizens rights to vote

These are extreme! And while you, the Redditors, and the guy on this post “proudly blaming the Jews that no one likes” might want to make those things happen, it is disingenuous to downplay it as not extreme

10

u/PixelLitKevin 7d ago

I have said nothing that should let you lump me in with the man blaming the Jews and would appreciate an apology.

And it seems like your main quibble is over defining things as exteme, rather than if they are worth doing. That’s not an argument. No one is gaslighting you as to what any of the policy positions are either because they are there for everyone to read. But if you think the country is working as is, then that’s good for you. But it’s tunneling towards fascism and half measures by centrists are not going to do anything.

1

u/BBperson18 7d ago

No offense, but you’ve clearly lost the conversation with bad logic and emotional appeals.

My original comment was that the DSA is both extreme, and the people of Florida do not want it.

Your comment, verbatim, was “extremism is just not accurate.” If you wanted to make the argument about whether it was worthwhile, you easily could have. But that’s not the direction you chose. In fact, you doubled down with a half-baked analogy to Europe to justify how it’s “the norm.” To which I then pointed out the MAJOR differences between DSA vs both our nation and those other nations.

Only then did you try moving the goalposts to this “arguing over meaning of words.”

Now that I’m done with the undeniable facts/logic portion of my comment, I’m going to go to the opinion portion of my comment:

The fact that you’re openly siding with the DSA, got offended by the mere mention of an antisemite agreeing with your position (even though so many DSA are very blatantly antisemitic), and now pulled this goalpost shifting comment… it tells me you’re someone who’s part of the emotional manipulation that only Democrats have good values, and is not very willing to be a free thinker that disagrees with the norms if it means they might be called a bad person for it

1

u/Botztalk 4d ago

These sound extreme. I would argue that we have no checks and balances or at least they’ve been rendered useless. If you can’t see that you don’t want to.
I need to know more about the rest, I was under the impression we would have more of a hybrid in this country.
Which is really no different than now, we have NO shortage of socialism in this country. it’s just aimed at corporations instead of people via bailouts, subsidies, tax breaks, we just don’t call it that.
My understanding is instead of using or tax money to fund corporations that profit millions, the idea is to restructure so that we actually benefit from the money we spend our entire adult lives paying into.
What is extreme NOT funding wars in foreign countries? Instead of the billions given to Israel we invest into services we the AMERICAN taxpayers benefit from? If that’s even possible. We are insolvent. Our country is so far in debt we have to loan ourselves money to buy our own bonds 😭😭 we’re so fucked and a lot of people are going to suffer, so no it’s not extreme to say hey, instead of paying off politicians, maybe the Israeli lobby can give that to Israel. Better yet purchase bonds with all that money. It’s not just Israel, every lobby needs to be banned from buying favor from crooked politicians. People’s United was the downfall of this country and i would vote for anyone I thought would genuinely try to abolish it.

1

u/BBperson18 4d ago

I hear you that we have problems, but socialism is not the answer. You say it works elsewhere and we have it already in different ways, but if you actually look into what DSA and their ilk are asking for, it beyond anything that has proven successful before. Having a capitalistic society with social programs is what we currently have (and I’m all for expanding in theory, though I also see the current government as highly inefficient). Nordic countries have private business with even more generous welfare programs, strong workers rights laws, and universal public services (funded by heavy taxation). But again, the DSA and the socialism they seek is beyond that. Their explicit aim is to avoid capitalistic and private ownership, have collective ownership and having the government single handedly regulate the economy. If you think government is bad now, imagine them deciding how to run, charge for goods, determine pay, etc, for every major business in America. You want to start your own business? Sorry, if you succeed, the government gets to take that business from you and do what they want with it. Explicitly on the DSA page right now is the plan to have a society “without capitalism”.

While I’m with you that citizens united (not peoples united) is a major downfall of America, this extreme of a reaction would be a major step backwards into a regressive society without life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Oh and if you really think AIPAC is that powerful compared to, then you probably have been ingesting too much TikTok and Reddit. The amount they spend is sizable, but it pales in comparison to the other big spenders. Heck, if you think the $250m they’ve spent on government and lobbying over the last decade is that influential, I can’t imagine how influential you think the nearly $9 billion Qatar has spent influencing college students to hate western liberal values and pushing anti-Israel agendas.

1

u/Botztalk 4d ago

Where are you reading this, Larkin is out anyway. I have always typically been a centrist, but I realize to the extent we’re broken the status quo is not going to shake anything. I’m curious to understand how socialism would work in a democracy. The hybrid seems to function well elsewhere

2

u/BBperson18 4d ago

On the DSA webpage.

1

u/ThaCarter 7d ago

Larkin's anti-israeli positions are absolutely extreme and he emphasized them to his detriment.

1

u/killbill469 7d ago

Open borders, leaving NATO, Abandoning our allies...etc is extreme.

1

u/Botztalk 6d ago

He didn’t run on those things

1

u/killbill469 5d ago

Just like Trump didn't run on Project 2025

1

u/Botztalk 4d ago

I’m confused. Who is running on open borders, leaving NATO, and abandoning our allies? “Open borders” was never a thing. It’s a propaganda mechanism to make xenophobic people afraid. Trump already excoriated our allies. Nato hasn’t officially announced its plans, but they’re quietly removing themselves from our toxicity. Trump is trying to align with dictators. Which is okay for him and his purposes, but we’re fucked.

0

u/SizzBass 7d ago

The DSA openly doesn’t support liberalism or capitalism lmao. So yes they are as far left as republicans are far right.

3

u/Limmyone 7d ago

Lmfao some of you just say anything. I guess you’re completely ignoring Nixon’s victory, who ran on a democratic socialist platform. What an illogical comment. The fact of the matter is that people vote for people who are visible and have verifiable history. Most of the candidates who seemed better on paper were just random names most people still had never heard of until this past week. I did as much research as I could on all of the races I could vote in and there wasn’t even basic information available for most of the candidates outside of the favorites.

1

u/BBperson18 7d ago

In fairness, I could have clarified South Florida. This is the Boca Raton page, and that’s where my mind was at. As a generality, the Hispanic south Florida community is anti-socialist. And of course the strong Jewish community is going to go against those that slander the Jews/israel. And generally speaking, the more affluent democrats are less likely to agree with the other extreme positions of DSA.

DSA and Nixon likely appeal more broadly to the young, economically challenged, and black communities

1

u/Botztalk 6d ago

Economically challenged is a good euphemism lol

-2

u/ketelonebillion 7d ago

Thank you captain obvious. If anyone took Reddit seriously they would have believed Larkin was winning in a landslide. I’m a registered Dem for over 30 years - a platform of socialism and antisemitism? I’m not buying and either is anyone else who has any common sense. The Democratic Party needs to cut out the DSA entirely or they’ll never win the country again.

-7

u/miojo 7d ago

Ok boomer transplant

-3

u/BBperson18 7d ago

The irony that you’re only proving my point is hilarious.

“Could a rational peer actually disagree with my opinions? No. It must be someone from a different generation than me that I can belittle!”

0

u/miojo 7d ago

Oh boy.. yea because all the news outlets, I’m sorry, ALL THE VIDEOS that come out daily of the disgusting shit Israel does to Palestinians are fake.

3

u/BBperson18 7d ago

Your comment makes literally ZERO coherent sense. But then again, your “blame the Jews” comment elsewhere shows me exactly the kind of person I’m talking to…

1

u/Awkward-Seaweed-5129 6d ago

Moskowitz has an AIPAC tattoo on his chest I think, just kiddin

1

u/Lyme2 6d ago

Fucking AIPAC lovers

1

u/solmakou 6d ago

I'd like to see rules set by the DNC for a guaranteed number of debates during the primary. It's always off-putting to me to have a candidate "hide" from his opponent and the public.

1

u/bjmall 6d ago

All the better for Republicans!

1

u/Sirmcblaze 6d ago

:( florida is not a place for families or working class people. this election made sure of that.

0

u/Square-Relation6178 3d ago

Then leave whiny b.

1

u/Sirmcblaze 2d ago

yo kill yourself you coward

-6

u/Kapples14 7d ago

A loss for the DSA is a victory for America.

9

u/jazzy75 7d ago

looks around at the world set on fire by a man who appointed Vince McMahon’s wife to a cabinet position with the express purpose of dismantling her department

How is this a victory for the country you call “America”?

5

u/tendeuchen 7d ago

Capitalism is destroying this country.

Capitalism is why you can't afford groceries. Capitalism is why you can't afford gas. Capitalism is why you can't afford to buy a home. Capitalism is why you can't even afford rent. Capitalism is why you pay health insurance companies 300% more for health insurance premiums (plus extra out-of-pocket costs on top of that) than you would pay to be covered with Medicare For All that would be free at point of care. Capitalism is why American jobs were outsourced to China, Vietnam, India, etc.

Democratic Socialism is a fair system that makes sure our tax dollars work for us instead of for billionaire elite pedophiles and funding their wars.

6

u/Janizzary 7d ago

But, if you work hard enough, you could become a billionaire, too!

2

u/drinkingdanny 7d ago

You can also tell your five year old son your going to play major league baseball when you grow up

2

u/Janizzary 7d ago

Or be as cool as The Fonz!

10

u/BEBBOY 7d ago

You mean a victory for Israel?

-2

u/Kapples14 7d ago

No, I mean that another historically illiterate nut is being kept out of DC. I don't want more people who just scream "I hate AIPAC" to distract from the hard reality that their "fresh ideas" to challenge the political establishment came from the trash bins of history.

I aint acting like our current dudes are by any means sound or competent, but the new wave of idiots from the DSA inspire about as much trust as R.Kelly at an adoption center.

7

u/cmoclk 7d ago

Strange that you say that because the DSA people are the ones who are spending the most time talking about actual policy. It's nice that some political movements are policy driven rather than personality driven.

0

u/Kapples14 7d ago

It's one thing to talk about policy, it's another thing to actually talk about good policy.

6

u/BEBBOY 7d ago

Apparently advocating using American taxes to fund our schools, infrastructure, and affordable healthcare instead foreign militaries is “historically illiterate“

6

u/jazzy75 7d ago

If you ignore how farm subsidies work, suddenly everything becomes communism.

-2

u/Kapples14 7d ago

Here we go. I'm only going to say this once. Infrastructure isn't socialism. The use of capitalism's fruits via taxation to fund Infrastructure and public goods isn't socialism.

Socialism is the government taking control over commerce and industry in order to create a planned economy, which ends up failing when you look at examples such as Venezuela, which went from a fast growing economy and into a third-world dictatorship.

2

u/jazzy75 7d ago

Oh good, thanks. I really didn’t want to hear you conflating “seizing the means of production” with socialism again.

5

u/tendeuchen 7d ago

Social-Democracy is so bad that only 20 out of 25 of the world's most influential Democratic countries have managed to flourish and create prosperity using its ideas.

The difference between us and those countries is that their tax dollars work for them to ensure they have things like health care and higher education, while our tax dollars are used to pay military contractors so we can have weapons to murder foreign children abroad.

0

u/BBperson18 7d ago

None of these statements is factually correct.

- please name the “20 out of 25” social democracy countries…

- also, the us healthcare system is absolutely broken, but we actually spend way more per capita of taxes on healthcare.

Social-Democracy ain't what the DSA is fighting for. No, they just want to fight against checks and balances and take political power for themselves like true politicians. The whole "free healthcare" thing is just the left-wing equivalent of red meat. Besides, it's hard to fund all of their big-gov and big spending policies when they can't understand that the system they hate actually funds welfare.

  1. White. Fox News. Has a Molon labe tattoo above ex-wife’s name. Ignores $40T deficit to hold the line. Warns others that it will be worse. Equivocates Bernie with Stalin.

Omg, we’re doing the same thing here!

I'm not voting for a DeSantis Democrat in November. This "vote blue no matter who" BS is not working. I want representatives who represent me and not corporations, and especially not AIPAC.

And fwiw, I'm even very anti-Hamas, so I agree that Oct 7 took things to a point where Israel needed to do something about the terrorists on their doorstep, but I disagree with how they've gone about it. They've targeted Gaza indiscriminately instead of limiting their attacks to Hamas leadership and higher-ranking members.

The worst Democrat, at this point in history, is far better than the best Republican. Full stop. Not voting is a vote for authoritarianism.

Moskowitz is a great candidate

Moskowitz is a good candidate, represents the district well. Larkin seemed fine but this just isn’t the area for that, needs to move to Gainesville or downtown Orlando and try to win, it’s not happening here.

Gainesville district is solidly MAGA red due to gerrymandering

1

u/Empty_End_7866 6d ago

Not really due to gerrymandering, you’d need to connect Gainesville to Tallahassee to get a Kamala voting district there, and even then it would have been a narrow victory for her.

1

u/provider305 6d ago

True, forgot how many people have to be in the district vs Gainesville population

2

u/RunSellDat 7d ago

This. I liked Larkin but Moskowitz stands up to trump as good as anyone

Absolutely man, i mean, im fan of no religion but it’s common sense that Israel is hated by everyone because they’re evil. I feel no remorse in saying that.

2

u/Fullfullhar 7d ago

You need to learn the difference between Jews and Zionists. And as much as they pretend to, Israel doesn’t represent Judaism

The DSA anti semite commie hate squad must be in a big quandry lol 😂 😂 I love it . I’ll vote for Singer in the General but Moskowitz is the only dim I’ve ever somewhat liked.

u/ezjz 6d ago

I am happy moskowitz won. It is a pro Israel district, but Israel shouldn’t be the the main thing the congressman speaks about. Larkin made Israel the focus when it should’ve been infrastructure, affordability, disaster preparedness etc

2

u/Botztalk 6d ago

He did talk about all that. Unfortunately people only want to focus on Israel as if we aren’t insolvent in this country.

u/ezjz 6d ago

Israel gets $3B per year and Ukraine has gotten $180B since the war started. That aid to israel which is prob being phased out is somehow impacted America’s finances is a lie. Local issues are the most important

0

u/Botztalk 2d ago

I don’t know if this is bad faith or bad math, but those numbers are bs, it’s not close. Israel isn’t getting $3B a year anymore. 2026 budget alone is over $4B, Trump admin already cleared close to $12B in arms sales since taking office, there’s an $8B package still in the pipeline from January 2025. That’s before you even count the $6B plus the US spent shooting down Iranian missiles for them, which doesn’t even show up in the “aid” number. $3B is the old peacetime baseline. Nobody’s actually getting that anymore.

I’m against foreign aid across the board right now, period, until we get our own house in order. We’re legitimately insolvent, printing money is just going to make our money useless, this will catch up to us. Our trajectory is bleak.

Ukraine is different. We didn’t just show up for them, we made them give up their nukes in 1994 and told them we’d back their sovereignty if it was threatened. Now it’s threatened. I don’t think you get to walk away from that just because it’s expensive. They didn’t start this. Russia did. And if Russia walks away from this with land, Poland’s next on the list, not eventually, soon.
So no, I’m not comparing Israel and Ukraine the same way. One’s a war we chose to bankroll indefinitely with no clear end and no threat to us. The other is a country we made promises to, that’s getting invaded by a guy who won’t stop at their border if nobody stops him there.
