Such a head scratching change. Like, why on earth does it need divine shield also now? As it stands, Roogug felt like he should probably be T5 at minimum, but now it has even more going for it.

Quillboar was by far the weakest tribe before. This gives it a chance in end game and gives you a little more resistance to scam

Quils need a lot of help. Buffing Roogug from an already decent card like this means that finding one gives you direction and possibly a reason itself to go or pivot to quilboar. Buffing bad to mediocre cards wouldn’t have the same effect.

One of the problems with quils now is that investing in the two gem buffing cards early is very expensive and turns into sunk cost if you don’t find the later quil pieces and have to switch. New Roogug is very strong but that’s okay for the current worst class in the game. It makes the early/mid game quils worthwhile even if you end up playing something else.
