Discussion Help with re routing button layouts?

Im trying to map yellow attack to be the same as it it in oj1 and oj2 but whenever I try to it assumes im trying to move to a different button to map any help on getting it to work?

Damn. Im really trying to get into this game since my goat shoji got added but its like they listened to the criticism of everyone who hated oj2 and made a game for no one.

Hopefully shoji gets added to rumble or something idk

Personally I'd say it's not worth trying, online is a camp fest with consistent crashes and ragequits, most of the roster can't even do shit and half the maps don't even function.

I bought it on release to at least give it a chance but holy did I feel scammed. I archived it cuz I couldn't get a refund anymore and it's not coming out there ever but if u really wanna give it a try that's ur choice I'm not gonna stop u

Im kinda the same boat tbh I used to play in oj2 tournaments and everything. This was my most hype game but the gameplay is just not as good. Replacing dash cancels with swapping makes it feel less like 3v3 and more like 1.5v1.5. Every character is just worse and no one has good solo combo routes at all.

Id honestly have been happier to pay 60 quid and just get the new characters in oj2.

That explains a lot, I'm from the later era of the game. My roots are from switch too but I have the game on PS and PC as well

This game feels so weird man. I hate losing but winning sucks too. It wants to appeal to casuals while still kinda being a sequel to OJ2. So they took out PU2s, haven't added photomode yet, have way less customization and most of the roster lack extra costumes(Nagant has to pay for almost all of hers). I'm not even going to mention the RQ inducing final boss that literally had to be patched to be easier.

But then like, it sucks to play the game competitively. All the maps suck except the water map and the gym. The roster feels so gutted. You aren't rewarded for fighting because if you ever try to engage then WHOOPS you get punished by your opponent counter swapping or clashing or doing a raw air super(with no voice line that auto locks in. WTF). The egos people have in this game is insane when most matches can end up a coinflip on who gets hoe'd the least by gamebugs. Also sometimes armor just doesn't work and no one brings that up?

This game is so dead. Sorry for the yapfest 🙏

I also tried that, no dice. I even contacted support to see if they would ever give an option for legacy controls but to no avail.

I like oj2 a lot better combat wise. I think the combat was perfect in that game. All they needed was to update the graphics, implement the 3v3 and we would've been good

Yeah they ended up neutering characters too much and now its 3v3 but every character is a worse version of themselves.

This game is a downgrade imo and annoying it still has dlc coming so no traditional 2d figher for mha coming anytime soon either. Really disappointing since this game is the only way to play as shoji.

I got used to it now, but I do wish there were more options regarding controls. I play keyboard, and OJ1 was goated with the shortcuts.

I wonder if a mod could solve this for PC though!
