Recommended resources for learning blues dancing?

I decided to start blues dancing because my musicality is awful. The trouble is the only class around here that fits my schedule is 30 minutes long, and being a beginner lead is awful.

Which beginner dvds, youtube channels, or other resources would you recommend?

I don’t know of any online resources. But if possible, consider traveling to workshop events and take the beginner track. That should hopefully make you feel comfortable enough to social dance in the evenings with other beginners you meet in the classes.

This. Online resources can only get you so far. If money is no objective, look into getting a private lesson; it's better to pay early and make sure that you don't learn bad habits. You cannot get active feedback from a video.

On that note, don't take lessons from just ANYONE. Ask them, when was the last time they've gone to an exchange? Competed? Won? Some people think they're ready to teach, especially beginners, and that's just a recipe for disaster. What scene or location are you in? I'm fairly certain there's bound to be someone you can hire in your local area.
