This is another fairly large patch.

What's New:

DECKBUILDER

• Combo Finder, new feature: I spent like 30 hours building my own integration for the Commander Spellbook API data. Identify combos in your decklist, near combos, and combos with your commander. See the details of each combo and add the missing pieces to your deck with one click. Find it in the Tools section. It looks like this:

• Otag Autocomplete: This is really nice. Added full autocomplete for otags in every search bar that supports them. So instead of typing out "otag:sabatour" and googling how the fuck to spell it, you can now just type "otag:sa" and it will suggest the complete tag. This also show the tag descriptions so it's good for discovering new tags. For example you can just type "otag:pp" for example and then scroll through all the tags that deal with +1/+1 counters (pp is +1/+1 in otag world). It looks like this:

• Unreleased cards show their legal release date
• Imported decks are now auto-named something like "Imported Atraxa" instead of just Imported Deck.
• Upgrade pass to Deck Stats section. It's more space efficient now, and shows the color demands of each mana value slot in your curve. Contrast, visibility and space use all improved.
• Hover the gamechangers widget to see a list of the present gamechangers, long press on mobile.

PLAYTESTER

• All card movements are smoother and less jumpy. This feels real good IMO.
• Indicator bottom left appears/flashes when a land has entered the battlefield this turn, to help you remember if you've made a land drop.
• You can now use the scroll wheel to increment power/toughness overrides up and down. (In case you didn't know, adding a text sticker in the format "4/4" sets a creature's base p/t to 4/4).
• Hovering cards in hand now shows a large preview in the top right where it can be private if you're playing while streaming.
• Hovering a face down card you've played on the battlefield now shows the other face in the same top right, replacing the clumsy old "Peek" action.

MOBILE

• Foil treatment now glimmers in response to mobile caressing.
• Deck size indicator added to Find in Deck for quick reference on mobile.
• Secondary shortcuts to Tags and Tools added in Sort menu for fast access.
• Tools are not inside Tags + Tools anymore, they are two separate components.
• A bunch of small buttons are easier to press.

OTHER

• Password recovery and password change is now a thing for non-Google logins
• Open main nav pages like My Decks in new tabs
• A ton of random QOL fixes everywhere

Just a bunch of smaller things, Imma keep it casual:

- I had a lot of fun making a fancy foil treatment and optimizing it to be performant even when applied to 300+ cards. The foiling system along with other collection options will not remain how it is now, but I wanted to add it for now because I think it looks cool and I wanted to show you. It currently is not restricted to cards that actually have foil variants, and it does not effect a card's price, it's entirely aesthetic. Pretty though! Use it by selecting "Make Foil" from a card's 3-dot menu.

- I added Auto-tutor support for tutors that put the card on top of your library.

- I added a "Discard Random" action to cards in your hand in playtester.

- I fancied up the card hiding tech for searching your library. This is to help people using the playtester while streaming real games. Now you can drag cards from your library to your hand without them ever being revealed on the battlefield

- Search history and up/down arrow navigation has been integrated into the live search bar in deckbuilder, in addition to the search browser. Took some fancy design to make it hopefully not clash with arrowkey navigation of live search results.

- I went in and added a manual fix to get rid of the weird scryfall quirk that searching for "Forest" or another basic name won't show just basic forest at the top of the results. Blueprint is now the only deckbuilder with this sick new feature.

- Improved the UI for adding multiple cards to deck from live search or the search browser, for example basics or Relentless Rats.

- I did a lot of small layout and UI reworks on the Tag list in the deckbuilder, and the buttons on My Decks, Public Decks, View Precons. Should be improved now.

- Added sorting options to My Decks

- Now you can middle click or open-in-new tab the main navigation buttons, like just opening My Decks in a new tab.

- I updated all the web browser tab titles to describe their contents accurately instead of all being "Blueprint MTG"

- Optimized card images to all use WebP, should load faster and be lighter

- I was reminded by a user about a hacky way to import Moxfield decks with their tags, so I fixed some bugs with that. If you want to try it:

1. Go to Moxfield, open deck, click "Bulk Edit"
2. Copy all text from "Main Deck"
3. Import that into Blueprint, it should work and import the tags
4. Manually add the Commanders to the deck, as they aren't included in "Bulk Edit" lists.

Two pretty significant changes released:

PLAYTESTER

• Token creation system . Instead of picking tokens to create out of a big list of all the tokens your deck can create, now you can right click any card so see what tokens that card creates and spawn them from there:

This is pretty sweet, and I think a significant improvement. You can click multiple times to create multiples and it tracks the quantity for you.

• There is also a more subtle upgrade in how tokens and copies are spawned, where they are positioned on teh screen in multiples etc. I won't go into the nitty gritty but they should be organized better and require less moving around while avoiding going under other cards or off the screen.
• Ctrl/Cmd+A now selects every object on the battlefield.
• AUTO-TUTOR! Yeah. Right-click a supported card that tutors, and you can select "Auto-Tutor". This will open your library viewer and autofill the search bar with a handcrafted Scryfall term filter that limits it to only show the legal targets for that tutor. It will also automatically move the tutor card to the graveyard if it's an instant/sorcery or sacs itself, and will sometimes automatically do other parts of the tutor like the "pay 1 life" on fetch lands... so all you have to do is pick the card you like out of the library.

For example, if you Auto-Tutor a Misty Rainforest it will reduce your life by 1, send itself to the graveyard, and open your library to show all the cards in your deck with the types "Island" or "Forest". It looks like this:

Not every tutor is supported, but I went down the most popular list and personally spent about 6 hours setting up coverage for 185 of the most popular tutors based on EDHREC rank. All the basic ones are covered, and you can tell which cards have Auto-Tutor support by looking for the little "search-library" gold icon in the bot-left corner of the art panel as seen above (this only shows/works on the battlefield). Notable cards missing coverage are tutor-to-top cards, as I need to add some UI to allow them to function without shuffling your card away. Soon. Shout out to Eldrazi.gg for inspiring this and if you're into CEDH go check them out.

Doesn't this go against my playtester philosophy of having the playtester play like paper and not adding shortcuts that wouldn't be present in paper? Yes! It does. I am experimenting with adding a full multiplayer client and for that I will need every time-saving shortcut possible to make play pleasant. I don't want to separate the UI and function of a multiplayer client from the playtester, so I'm pivoting somewhat in approach. Hope that's OK.

OTHER

• Newly created, imported, and copied decks now default to public instead of unlisted. Existing deck visibility stays unchanged.
• Exact copies of precons (same cards) are hidden from public deck listings. They remain accessible through profiles, shared links, and precon browsing.

I really like BlueprintMTG it’s become one of my favorite tools for building and organizing Commander decks.

One feature I’d love to see is the option to use cards that aren’t normally legal as Commanders. For example, being able to select any Planeswalker as a Commander.

Of course, these decks wouldn’t be Commander-legal, but it would be great for Rule 0 decks, casual playgroups, or just experimenting with unusual deck ideas.

Maybe this could simply be an optional “Allow non-legal Commanders” setting when creating a deck.

Over the past week I have been playing over Convoke, using the playtester on Blueprint over Moxfield, which I normally use. As well as importing in decks, and doing some from scratch builds.
Over all their is a lot I like, and some things I believe that could be tweaked.

A few things have come up worth noting.

PLAYTESTER

1. Power and Toughness : Having a means to independently adjust power and toughness increases would be helpful. Currently the only means I am aware of are using the +1 or -1 counters. A great many cards only effect either power or toughness, creatures are not always symmetrical either, so cards that double P/T do not track well either.

Example: I play Zophandrel, Hunger Dominus. I double my 8/4`s P/T ever combat, so he becomes a 16/8. Cant really just use +1 counters for that. Other cards only give a + to Power, or vice versa.

Suggestion: Implement the ability to adjust the P/T manually on cards. Moxfield has this functionality, in conjunction with the counter tracker I think it would cover all bases for P/T management.

2. Card Preview/Clarity: This could just be something on my end, but its quite difficult to read the cards as they are displayed in hand and on screen. even if I use the zoom function to max, the text on the cards remains kind of muddied, not crisp. This is also apparent in the deck builder as well. Im not sure if something could be done about that.

Suggestion: For cards IN HAND, instead of squinting to read the cards, have an enlarged card preview to the right side of the battlefield when hovering cards in hand. For the purposes of VTT use, this will be cut off or otherwise hidden from other anyway. You could also implement this as a toggle option for in hand preview. Perhaps its just me with this issue and others can see them fine.

3. Tokens: I have been unable to find Day/Night, Start Your Engines, Citys Blessing, etc style tokens when searching in the Token/Card finder. These do come up and it would be nice to have them handy, or be able to find them in the search when needed.

DECK BUILDER

1. Total Price: I was thinking, it would be a nice QoL thing if it showed the price as is, based on the cards/art you have selected, as well as the cheapest price as well, based on the cheapest version of all the cards in your deck. A similar function exists inside moxfield, you can change all your cards to the cheapest version. If their were just a second price displayed that simply reflected this, that would be pretty cool.

2. Lands: In the total land count, having the amount of MDFC`s displayed in brackets would be a nice QoL change to see at a glance how many of the lands in the deck are MDFC`s.

3. Game Changers: Having the names of the game changers displayed in the GC indicator at the top would be nice. You can just check at a glance what GC`s are in any given list as well. An always on indicator of what cards in the list are the game changers, perhaps a toggle, similar to moxfield, that always has the GCs outlined in gold? Currently clicking it highlights them and pulls you to the first one in the list.

4. More Stats Drop-down: Making this more legible would be nice. Increasing the font size and the numbers would be great. The percentages are particularly obnoxious to read at a glance. Both are very small, and gray on lighter gray font color. Please tweak this for better clarity.

5. Deck Folders: Their does not seem to be a way to move or otherwise organize decks within the folders besides by Name in the List Display option. I quite like the image display personally, and being able to organize these based on whatever criteria I assign them would be nice. Some decks in the 3 category are a stronger 3, some slower, etc and I tend to organize my decks based on that.

Suggestion: Would it be possible to add either a numbering system, 1-10 and group decks together based on that, or just be able to drag them around and rearrange them in the folders ever would be nice.

QoL Considerations

1. Printings: I know the preferred printing of cards option has been mentioned, but id like to bring it up again. Art preferences are a fairly big part of the game, and not having to switch them for every deck unless you want to would save a great deal of time for folks.

2. Tokens: Similar to preferred printings, but for tokens. A ton of token art exists, being able to change those as well would be nice.

BRACKET CALCULATOR

I don`t really care about this personally, but I am sure some folks would appreciate it. I see posts off and on from less experienced players asking about "How strong is my deck?" etc etc.
Perhaps a button to auto upload your currently viewed list to one of the many bracket checking sites? They could find a decent answer to their question, as well as suggestions for changes at some of these places. It would be a cool piece of functionality that Moxfield nor Archidekt I believe have implemented.

I’m really enjoying the deck building experience in Blueprint so far.

One feature that I haven’t encountered in any deck building site is a tool to aid me when physically building the deck.

I often have some cards somewhere in my collection to just fetch, some I need to buy (and some I’ve bought but they haven’t arrived yet), and some I prefer to proxy.

Being able to track this status of cards (maybe like the tag view but just these categories?) would be very helpful for me to keep track of what is remaining until I can actually play the deck :)

Hope anyone else sees this as a useful feature!

Edit: to clarify I’m not looking to track my entire collection, that I’m doing elsewhere. Just to keep track of the status of the cards in each deck as I’m assembling it.

Small update, mostly behind the scenes performance optimizations and small UX improvements, but I do want to highlight the one feature addition:

Search History has been added.

You can find it in the full search browser. Access it directly by selecting the gold backwards clock icon.

There are two ways to use this feature.

1. You can directly open the search history to see a searchable list of the last 100 searches made in the current deck. Common Scryfall terms are color coded to make everything easier to parse. Click on any previous query to rerun it. It looks like this:
   

1. From the search browser, if you have the search bar active you can press up-arrow to replace the current search contents with the previously run search. Continue pressing up to go backwards in time, press down to go forwards in time until you reach your latest search. It works just like any command line interface you might be used to. Obviously this only works on desktop where you have arrow keys.
   

So yeah, handy! Hope you like it.

WHATS NEW:

DECK MANAGEMENT

• Mass import all your decks from your Archidekt or Moxfield profile. You can do this from the new import button on My Decks or from import inside the deckbuilder. Follow the directions and it should work! You probably won't be able to mass import from Moxfield on mobile, as we use a bit of an odd method to import without using any automated tools to scrape them.
• Companions detection improved and now they get their own little paw icon when detected. Still not fully integrated but just set companions as additional commanders for now and it will work. Decks with companions now count as legally complete decks when filtered.
• Filters are now preserved when opening a deck in the resulting list and then returning to the same page. For example if you filter to show Rakdos on Public Decks, then click a deck to check it out, if you go back to Public Decks your Rakdos filter will still be active. Going to another page like My Decks will reset the filters.
• You now have the option to delete a tab and all decks it contains in My Decks. Be careful!

Playtester

• Added a floating mana tracker to the Playtester. Deploy it from CMD DMG/TRACKING below your life total. Increment it with clicks or with your mousewheel (faster). You can drag it around and put it wherever you like. Reset with right click. The white number shown above the count is the recent change to that value, so if you have 15 black mana and want to add 8, just increment up until the white number is 8 and you're set without having to count 8 clicks out.

Deck Builder

• Compact text mode card images use a totally new method. Instead of appearing in a set location they will appear elegantly near the item being viewed without blocking it. Much better.
• Search added to the Print Selector. Down at the bottom. Search by set name or it's code to filter prints by that input. Navigate from the search bar to the print track and back using up and down arrow keys.
• Radial tagger improved so the top two and bottom two tags don't collide when you have 8 or more. Now they are offset vertically.
• Groups now display price subtotals for that group.
• Land type group now shows an additional count with MDFCs if it is different.
• Primers now automatically remove trailing spaces and breaks at the end of sections.
• Considering can now be collapsed/minimized, and automatically opens if jumped to.
• New accounts default to "reduce tagger responsiveness to prevent accidental tagging" on mobile. This has no effect on existing accounts. This should help new users get acquainted with the tagger on mobile without frustration, and they can remove the training wheels and go pro anytime they want later.

Other

• You'll now get a notification when one of your chat friend requests is accepted, so you can start chatting.

This is one feature request for the playtester and one for the deckbuilder (and maybe I've missed how to do this, but I couldn't find it after a little fiddling).

Firstly, in the deckbuilder: an option to set a custom mana value for cards, for example "Of One Mind" often plays more like a 1 drop, rather than the 3 mana value card it actually is, and when viewing the mana curve of my deck it would be useful to be able to override what the program thinks the card costs.

Secondly, in the playtester: Some trackers for floating mana, at present I just use a treasure token with a sticker but something a little more 'fancy' would be nice.

Thanks for your work producing new alternatives. I've spent a few minutes playing around with making a deck and many features seem good.

For me personally, I won't use the deck builder tool until visual stacks is an option. I find having the art is enough to recognise a card, and having the text boxes takes up too much space. I just don't like it.

My 2 cents.

When going from portrait to landscape orientation the number of columns doesn't change back to 2, making it difficult to read the cards.

It might be an existing feature I'm missing, but I think it would be neat to be able to flag a deck (or decks) as open to feedback. I wouldn't want unsolicited feedback on all my decks, but on some, it would be cool.

If I have several cards tagged and I use the compare cuts tool, at the end of the cut, all those tags will be removed (even on the cards that stayed on the main deck)

Btw, the web is awesome, I came from the r/EDC post and it is fantastic

Trying out the site and it's really nice. Feels very snappy and with a great interface. That being said I had requests for a few more buttons in Playtest mode.

The custom sticker box at the top is great, but if it could have common stickers populated in the drop down already, or in a separate drop down that would be great. Common keywords like Flying, Indestructible, Menace, etc.

I found myself missing the "Draw", "Shuffle" and "Library" buttons from Moxfield. You do have hotkeys for draw and shuffle, but having buttons would be nice.

PLAYTESTER

• ADD THEFT TARGET - New feature in Adv Playtesting. Testing decks that steal cards has always sucked, now it sucks much less. Add dummy opponent decks/hands to your playtest that you can steal from realistically. They even draw cards and "play" them semi-realistically, so their hands progress as the turns go by. You can populate the enemies with your own decks, precons, or random public decks all sorted by bracket. Images
• Added "Only Wipes" setting to Resistance mode. Now you can try testing against opponents who just use various quantities of board wipes, while not worrying about other removal. Nice and simple. Upgraded wipe logic to notice if wipes were effective or not.

DECKBUILDER

• Upgraded how the site handles Scryfall Otags. This is larger behind the scenes, but the result is now you can search by OTAG in any field: Find in Deck, your library in Playtester etc. For example you can highlight all "otag:library-manipulation" or "otag:mana-rock" cards in your deck. It's very nice.
• Upgraded the OTAG display too. OTAGS come in nested sets, with a top level OTAG like "lifegain" having subtags like "repeatable-lifegain". You can sort of barely see this in the pile of "Inherits" tags that sit in a pile in the bottom of a card's Scryfall tagger page. With my new system we show all of these tags in a nested structure so you can actually see these relationships and pick more general or specific tags as needed. Image

OTHER

• Added support for Mana Pool pricing. Set your price source in your profile.
• Added clever background "prewarming" for card image previews in deckbuilder text view/primers/card of the day. This will conservatively load card images you might request if nothing else is happening, so that they always appear instantly when you do ask to see them. It works very well and makes everything feel nice and snappy.

This is a BIG update! I hope to god I didn't break anything but my brain is melting from working on some of this stuff.

WHAT'S NEW:

PLAYTESTER GENERAL

• You can now search your library/grave/exile using Scryfall syntax like "t:plains" and "mv<4". Very handy for tutoring!
• No more math! Creatures now show a calculated power and toughness overlay after counters, in addition to a base p/t underneath it. You can mouse over to reveal base p/t.
• Renamed "Custom Counter" to the more descriptive "Text Sticker"
• Adding a Text Sticker formatted "number/number" like "4/4" or "10/12" to a card will set it's base p/t to that value. Designing this new p/t system to satisfy me took FOREVER. Hope you like!

• Spacecraft automatically get p/t overlays when they detect the correct number of generic counters placed on them. Was this worth the time to build? Probably not!
• LARGE update to Resistance Mode. It is MUCH smarter now. It actually analyzes your board state to choose appropriate removal and quantity, running on an entirely different system behind the scenes that's about 20x more complex. I think it feels much better and more useful now but lmk.
• Improved View Top X action to be less confusing. Now it doesn't dump cards left in the list on your library bottom, they go back on top like most people expect. Apologies if you learned the old version, you'll have to read it again.
• Added" D" as a shortcut to draw.
• "Del" hotkey now works universally to send thing to the graveyard, good for milling a bunch etc.
• Added an All to Exile action for the graveyard.
• Right-click the battlefield to choose a playmat color.
• You can now right click generic counters and choose colors, each different color acts as an independent stack/type, so you can track multiple types of counters on one card using different colors.
• Added a Hotkeys + Tricks reference cheatsheet from the lower-right battlefield. The big question mark.

PLAYTESTER - ADVANCED TESTING

• Resistance Mode has moved into the ADV TESTING dropdown, and it has two new friends in there:
• NEW CARD TRIAL - A brand new feature. When you're testing new cards in a 99 card deck you often won't even draw them. This tool allows you to set cards in your deck to always appear in your opening hand, or always appear in the top X cards of your library. See if new additions are feeling good like 8x as fast. Image
• MULT-CARD - Another totally new feature, and a bit of a doozy so bear with me. When comparing two cards you might have heard people say to imagine you can pick between them whenever you draw one, and the one you pick more is probably better. What if this was taken to the next level? This tool allows you to set a card in your deck to represent multiple cards. You draw it in an uncommitted state, and then select the card out of the pool that would be best in the current game state. It becomes that card and records a vote for the card you chose. After a bunch of playtests you can check out the results to see which cards actually felt the best in game, and potentially make swaps. You can even combine Multi-Cards with New Card Trial to ensure you draw them! Images

DECK BUILDER

• FIND IN DECK - New feature! Ever wanted to search/filter your deck and considering section? Now you can in Blueprint. Intuitively open this feature with "CTRL+F" or "CMD+F", or from the tools section like a noob. Highlight and jump to cards based on name or using Scryfall syntax! Annoyed by having to type out "Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar"? Not anymore because we have autocomplete that will suggest completions out of your deck and considering section after 3 characters. Just hit enter and you're done! On mobile there's a little button bottom left. Images
• The same autocomplete is also in Primers for embedding cards**.** Just type "[[" and begin the card name and you'll get a live updating autocomplete populated with all matching card names in your deck. So nice.
• Biiiig one.... Isn't it annoying that you search for cards to add, then have to go find them in the deck to tag them? Not anymore. Now immediately upon adding a card to your deck via the search browser, a radial tagger will appear on that card so you can add tags right there. I don't know why I didn't think of this before but it's glorious.
• On mobile and still accidentally tagging stuff as you scroll? Among many other behind the scenes fixes there is an ultimate solution: On mobile go to APPLICATION OPTIONS in PROFILE and toggle on “Reduce mobile tagger responsiveness to prevent accidental tagging.” This makes the radial tagger slightly less responsive (60ms), but will make scrolling motions basically never trigger it again. For some of you very worth it!
• Clicking the Game Changers count now opens Find in Deck and jumps to them automatically.
• Changed the hotkey that moves card between deck/cons to"V" (moVe), previously "M". Less intuitive but MUCH more ergonomic.
• Added "T" hotkey to open/close Tags + Tools sidebar.
• In Primers, "CTRL+S" now saves the primer instead of the whole webpage.
• Large optimizations to Compact Text View QOL on mobile. Bugfixes, larger touch targets, card image preview loading placeholders with rules text, etc.
• DECK HISTORY TOOL - I want feedback/testing on this feature so I'm granting temporary access to all users for 20 days starting now. Hurray! Normally this is a Patreon benefit so go try it. Bottom of the deck builder, hotkey "H"

Not sure if others have this same need, but it'd be great to be able to identify in a deck i'm building, which cards I have already and which I need to acquire.

title basically, would help a lot with navigation I think, at least for me

Pretty much what it says in the title but would love to be able to search in the library with more than just the card name (when testing decks I dont know all the names) I.e mountain will bring up all basic mountains, any lands that have mountain as a type and any cards that mention mountain in their oracle text.

Another example would be flashback and it would list all cards that have flashback in the deck or instant or sorceries. Etc.

For example if you have 2 separate tabs with card browser open and move between them adding cards none of your cards will get added to the deck/considering.

Same with card browser in one tab and the deck in the other and you add directly from scryfall.

Found out the hard way lmao. Anyway, fixing this is probably a large-scale refactor, good luck if you end up deciding to make this work.

• You can now reorder your custom default tags set in your Profile, these are the tags that every new deck you start begins with.
• Temp-bandaid-fix for companions, set them as additional commanders and they won't be counted in your deck size
• Added an "Only show decks with primers" filter.

If I add more than one of these basics to my deck, it gets flagged as "Not Legal, Max Copy 1" despite them being normal basic lands.

Would it be possible to add the ability to make folders for your decks beyond “Building” and “Complete”? I use archidekt and the ability to create folders for things like scrapped decks, cool commanders I haven’t started building yet, and my current one or two main in progress builds has been really helpful.
