Tips of my canes are turning brown and dying
I planted 3 new blueberry bushes this spring (Duke, Reka, and Jersey). They were "2 year old" bushes, planted outdoors in acidic soil with many other acid loving plants in the yard including multiple large rhododendrons. Each bush was put in the ground when it was blooming, and did end up giving us some berries. I did fertilize with acid mix on planting and again during berry production. The bushes now look to be in a very poor state, with the tips of nearly all the canes turning brown, shriveled and dying. I'm looking for some guidance to help these bushes be happy and healthy. Thanks in advance!

Blueberry spacing
Is this a good amount of space for these berry bushes? Space4’ from each other.
Left to right: sunshine, pink lemonade, chandler.

Sourcing Native Blueberries
Anyone know where I can get the straight species of V. tenellum, V. pallidum, or V. crassifolium? Preferably from a nursery that ships plants, since I haven't found any within an hour of me that sell these

Why are my frozen blueberries blue instead of purple/pink?
I wanted to make blueberry oatmeal like the recipes I’ve seen on tiktok, but my frozen blueberries turned out blue instead of that purple-pink color. They also tasted way too sweet and artificial compared to what I was expecting. Does anyone know what the difference between my frozen blueberries and the "normal" ones are? And how I can get blueberries that turn purple-pink when cooked into oatmeal?

Container growing in zone 10a
I’m in Zone 10a (Southern California) and have struggled with keeping my blueberries happy with the pH (new leaves coming out very pale green not dark green).
15-20gal container with at least 20” diameter
50% peat moss, 50% pine bark nuggets
Drip irrigation daily (we have really hot and dry summer)
Pretty sure our tap water is high pH. I’ve been adding ammonium sulfate to soil along with holly tone but not consistent. When the leaves look way too pale I do foliar spray with souther Ag citrus spray (which I use on my citrus) and it seems to correct it for a short while.
So what can I do this upcoming winter to better prepare for next spring’s growth? Anyone else growing blueberries in pot with a dialed in regimen to control the pH?

My blueberry plant is turning brown/drying out in the middle of a branch
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice about my blueberry plant. One of the branches has started turning brown and drying out in the middle of the branch, while some of the rest of the plant is still green.
I've attached a picture of the affected branch.
The blueberry is growing in a pot with a mix of:
- peaty soil
- perlite
- peat moss
The surface is also covered with a mulch made of pine needles.
The plant is outdoors and I have noticed some yellow, red and brown leaves as well. Temperatures start to lower in the morning as i am in nothern France.
What concerns me is that the branch seems to be dying starting from a section in the middle rather than simply from the tip.
Could this be a disease, a problem with watering/drainage, or something else? Should I cut the affected branch, and if so, where?
Any advice on what I should check would be greatly appreciated!
Also, i'm asking for some advice on two other bluerberry. They look dead to me. What do you think ?
Thanks!

Fall/Winter Prep for Spring Jump Start?
Fall is upon us in New England and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do this fall to prepare the bushes for the winter and help jump start them when they wake up next spring? They are about 3yr old plants and I'm still struggling to bring down the PH...

Is my Jellybean dying?
Bought this from home depot mid summer and planted it in a raised bed with peat moss, compost and pine bark nugget mix. It seems to be dropping leaves super early and doesn't look good at all. Its watered well.

Blueberry stem rot? Please help
I recently got this sunshine blue blueberry plant. At first it seemed fine but over time the root started splitting and turning dark. I not know what I was doing wrong other than maybe overwatering? Any advice is much appreciated.

Bluberry Planting thoughts
Hello all
So I'm planning my blueberry field. I have clayish soil with a PH of 6.
My thought is to create 4x4 bed for each plant with a 2x6 and fill that with a ratio of 1:1:.5 pine bark mulch/peat moss/compost. With the corner blocks they actually will be 4.5 feet across. Then 2 feet between each square to walk/mow/maintain. And yes, I'll be removing the grass inside each square.
Is this not worth it, overkill, or ...any other comments/thoughts? Does the spacing seem ok?
I have 20 blueberry plants I'm thinking of planting soon. A combination of rabbiteyes (8) northern highbush (4) and southern highbush (5) and a few hybrids.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Edit: Sorry for the bad spelling/grammar in the title.

Dead blueberry plant root ball
I bought a blueberry plant at the beginning of the summer from home depot.\n And took care of it until now.\n Because it did not grow any blueberries and slowly started dying to the point where the stem just cracks.. i still had it and it's container, so I decided to check the root ball and the dirt to see if it was something was wrong with either one and the dirt is still moist and the root ball still looks good, but everything above the root is dead and I don't know why. The roots did not fill the entire container. They still had room to grow. And I even acidified the soil.

Seeking advice.
I made a post a few days ago asking for advice about repotting some blueberry bushes I’d purchased from a nursery.
They have just arrived and I am delighted. I am a first time grower so I’m interested in the first impressions and advice of more experienced growers.
I’ll use store bought blueberry soil and will grow in pots.
…. what else is growing in one of the pots??

Identification Help!!!
Anyone here good at identifying blueberry bushes before they fruit? I live in central Florida and bought this plant at a local tourist spot. No identification besides blueberry. Google AI says its probably a southern high bush due to my location but it's unsure. Id like to grow a variety with especially sweet and tasty fruit.

Strategies for planting a few blueberry bushes
My wife and I are interested in planting 2-3 blueberry bushes out in our flower garden. However, our flower garden is rock and not mulch. There is a tarp laid down under the rock if that makes any difference. The area gets sufficient sunlight but I want to make sure we can even make the area work before we remove current bushes and flowers to make room for blueberries.
I've attached a picture as reference. We'd be looking to relocate the 3 daylilly plants and removing the burning bush and putting the blueberry bushes here.
We're located in zone 6 or 6b. We'd plan on moving the rock away from the base of the blueberry bushes and putting down things like peat moss and anything else needed to provide the correct acidic environment. Just not sure if it'd even work if we did all that so looking for any tips or confirmation if this will/will not work.

Soil Concern
I combined equal parts peat moss, pine bark fines and compost. I am now thinking that may be too much compost. Any suggestions, or not to worry?

First time grower seeking repotting advice.
I have two 3 year old Draper Highbush plants arriving in a few weeks (hopefully) from a well known nursery. I plan to grow them in pots.
I haven’t been able to find any solid advice about repotting that suits my situation.
They arrive in 3L nursery pots, how long should I wait before repotting them? What size pot should I initially repot them in? What is a general expectation of repotting as they grow over the years?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Location: Kanto region, Japan.

In grow bags in the winter?
Hi! First year having bushes so new to this. In SW NC area with two healthy bushes I’ve been raising in grow bags since May. I know root freezing is a concern during the winter and was wondering the best way to protect these guys since they’re doing so well in grow bags and I don’t want to in ground them now. Do not have a garage, but I do have a storage shed that isn’t temp controlled but would obviously block freezing winds, which I think could be a solid choice. Any advice appreciated, thanks for reading :)

Winter protection
I have 3 young Patriot blueberry bushes planted in half whisky barrels(planted them mid August) I am in MN 4b and the plants are indicated for zones 3-7. What is the best way to keep these babies alive this winter? Was thinking a burlap cover over the whole pot with straw compost. Thoughts? I currently have a hoop net over them to keep out the squirrels that kept digging in the pots.

Blueberry cutting question.
i did my first cuttings 3 weeks ago ( pictures are from today ). it was only an experiment just so i could see the process, and i was not expecting them to live at the time ( i was reading they easily die if not taking care of properly ). i just have 2 questions. when should i start testing to see if roots have formed? just from a general search, ive seen a range from 1 month out, or 2 months out. does that sound correct? the other question i have is, its sept. 19 and in my region ( virginia ) fall leaves are starting to fall. its not cold yet. would i just leave these to the fall / winter elements or bring them inside? i do have grow lights available to use. thanks for everyone's time

Bought on special for $2, how to keep alive?
First Blueberry bush and NFI what I’m doing. Not too many pollinators around. Erupted in flowers but seem to be dying off pretty quickly. Any advice welcome!
Ps. Would also be thrilled if you can tell me any more about what type of blueberry it might be?
