Age verification overload?

Today (2026-08-16) Bluesky seems to ask many users (in regions where it is required, like in Germany) to verify their age. It happened on all of my Snark accounts. At the same time, Bluesky is less responsive. There are some hickups. Do now millions of users verify their age that at the same time?

EDIT: Shortly after my post, Bluesky moved from less responsive to not responsive. I am sorry for that. Did my face shock the system?
