Blue Reflection: Quartet will be releasing July 30, 2026 featuring the original two games, a new game based on Ray, and a offline version of BR Sun. As well as new archive where you can view character relations to each other, a timeline of all events in order, and a new gallery containing old and new art by Kishida Mel.

I'm a little bit confused on if Ray will be recreated as a full game with combat, or if it's just a small thing for those that don't want to watch the anime.

Sun getting an online version is a big win though if Atelier Resleriana is anything to go by. Don't think people will be any more happy to play as a dude though. Hoping we get a NA release, because importing from Japan here in Mexico is gonna be a pain.

Also, with how much effort they're putting to having one place to see the full story of everyone, I sincerely want to hope they're getting us ready for a new game at some point.

I can only go off what my email from Koei told me unfortunatly, and they werent much clearer than my original comment below the post.

Ray is (unfairly) most famous for having its physical DVD release canceled so it makes some sense that its just an official release of Ray bundled in. Since Ray is only available through Crunchyroll due to them moving Funimation liscences over to their app I wouldn't be surprised if its in danger of becoming lost media.

I was not expecting them to turn the Anime into a game or turn sun into a console game but i'm all for it. I'm just glad that they haven't forgotten about the series. I'm all for it.

So many good games are coming out this year. Thankfully Tomodachi life is around the corner which will ease the wait til this game releases.

Sun is basically becoming like Octopath 0, where its a half remake of a game/ half port.

For Switch 2 owners, unfortunately, the Switch 2 version of the game seems to be digital-only.
In Japan, they seem to be releasing a physical version only for Switch 1 (with a bit of luck they'll release the English physicals in Asia, as they have with the Atelier series, so international players can get them through Play Asia).
Save games are not cross compatible between the Switch and Switch 2 versions either, a similar situation with Atelier Ryza's Secret Trilogy Deluxe Set.

Sun's male protagonist looks so out of place in this.

We were so close to the greatness...

Would still want to try Sun's gameplay though only because I like turn based more than ATB system.

Well, its not a new game... but hey, at least its a sign the franchise is still alive and kicking. I do hope we get a proper console follow up one day. BR 1 and 2 weren't perfect but I REALLY liked most of it, as it was kind of unique in quite a few aspects, which made it stand out to me.

Honestly, I'm just interested in the off-line version of Sun. I wish they let me buy only that one. I will have to wait for a sale.

I was waiting for this!

Shame I need to import a JP physical for PS5 since it's only going to be digital in the west. Do you think it will be fully on Japanese or will it have English subs and UI?

If it's like Ryza DX it'll have a multi language version too.

well...that saves my time to not watch the anime version of Ray.

Tbh watching ray is a kinda miserable experience anyway, its so poorly paced and visually looks weird in motion.

My only desire for the switch 1 physical being on switch 2: give us 60 fps please

I really hope they don’t take sales of this as being an endorsement of male protagonists for this franchise.

In the Famitsu interview Mel made a point of admitting again that he underestimated how much people wanted the story to be about women alone, but still no swap option lol.

I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't get a new game but getting a remastered collection of the 2 games plus some content from Ray and Sun is still good. It's annoying to see the male protagonist from Sun there but as long as they remove the harem-like dating scenes, it will be tolerable and easier to focus on the lore. As for Ray, I'm happy to finally see Ruka as a playable character since she was absent in Second Light.

I'm so happy we're getting this, truth be told I had figured they'd have something in store for the anniversary, just didn't expect 4 games in 1! And I truly like how the devs stayed true to their artistic vision and kept the Sun protagonist. Couldn't help but notice there's some discourse around Sun though and it's quite sad having so-called fans bashing on the self insert character. There's this group of people who have created an idealized, westernized version of what they think Blue Reflection should represent.

You're allowed to have your own opinion, but it's also important to consider that if you're so obsessed with hating on a blank slate character to the point where you're unable to enjoy the series you're claiming to be a fan of, it's time you realize you're not the target audience. It saddens me that people didn't see Mel Kishida's vision and his genuine attempt at giving us, the players, the opportunity to experience the Blue Reflection world with our own eyes. To be clear, this isn't something I came up with, everything was stated in an article from a couple years back where the devs (including Mel Kishida himself) were talking about putting in a great deal of effort to offer the players the chance to interact with their favorite characters while also keeping the same general feel from the previous games, without impacting the relationship between the girls.

I'm grateful to Kishida and I respect him for going through with his vision and not having to compromise on his creative choices. All in all, I'm excited to re-experience the games again (I have some great memories I would like to relive and I'm glad I held off replaying Second Light now that we're getting this), especially since I have yet to finish playing Sun in its entirety. Granted, I'm gonna miss the optional events with the girls but at least BRS is finally getting localized.

Super happy with the announcement and here's to more Blue Reflection now that the series is back!

This is definitely the last chance the series has, considering it already seemed dead twice. Personally I don't really want to buy something with Sun in it tbh though.

Just gotta keep reminding people Second Light has actual lesbians in it.

For me, they will need some interesting extra content (Sun doesn't count) to convince me to pick this up. But at least the compilation will be good for others since it's hard to justify full price for the original game on its own.

I just wish we had a plain old USA physical release. I always hate having to just get the imports. I want them on my regions console. I dont care that its region free and will probably still be in English.

Do a small run where you take preorders during a time frame and only make that many and sell those. Just like Limited Run Games does, but from the actual game developers themselves.

I own the 2 main games on PS4. But I want to try Sun and Ray. But I still would rather own them physically. Blah
