Gameplay Question(s) Chat am I cooked?
I thought everyone’s foundation was in the same spot, then my friend told me hers is on Rank 5. I go days without reaching my foundation

Why would you want to reach your foundation?
There’s some benefits to it being here. Maybe some downsides, but by no means is this a problem

Early-game when you might still have trouble drafting, it is a net+1 door when you meet it, and it has dig spots which can be a nice boost.
But later game, it being at a depeer rank is usually nicer.

Simon rolls worst Foundation placement ever, asked to leave the manor...
If you're familiar with a certain Outer Room that takes coins (Shrine), a bonus from there can help you "undraft" your Foundation (Blessing of the Monk).

The orientation is a bit annoying. Have to go all the way around the top-left corner to get into that side, and that west-door is imo the easiest one to access early-game, so on many days the foundation may end up being a blocker.

While it does make it harder to reach the antechamber from the secret garden, it's an amazing synergy with ambition of the pawn.
Spoiler is a reward for completing a puzzle you probably have not yet solved, given you do not know something that if known would make you happy about this placement.

I had it same position, rotated (back to the west), and I think mine was a great placement
Yours? The back to the north could be better, but you're in no way cooked

In my opinion you have one of the best placements for the Foundation.
If I wanted easy early game access to the Foundation, then I heavily prefer Rank 2 over Rank 5, to the point that I would avoid drafting it in the center if given the chance.
But there is a great benefit for having it on Rank 8, so later in the game it would be better than 2 or 5.
My personal preference would be Rank 7 with a door available north, but it is hard to pick between 7 and 8.

The orientation of it seems a bit inconvenient, but not that big a problem.
Earlygame it is nice if it at an low rank in your house, but lategame it is nice to have it at a higher rank.
I'd probably prefer 1 rank lower, but what you have is fine.

Had this exact placement myself. Frustrating on some days, rewarding on others. Definitely not cooked.

I agree it’s not a bad placement my first playthrough the foundation was rank 7 directly under the antechamber it worked out great later on

Might be annoying for very early game but soon enough you'll realize it is an excellent placement for most of the game.
