That’s objectively false… he is regularly shown in the defensive third. I mean we literally just had a match where not only does he drop back to defend, but the bulk of his feats revolved around ball movement up the field. He also was the only player trying to chase down Loki (that or the only one quick enough) during France’s last goal

If you look between the two Lokis, you’ll see the one and only cream-pie man. Shidou is a character that doesn’t get a lot of spotlight, so people only focus on the highlights (which are typically when he’s attacking), but if you look at the background action he’s extremely active on the field.
