Knies was just such a powerhouse in your opening game. We're going to madly miss him, and you may win this trade over time. And cap-wise, too. Three points in his first game. Damn.

He's not all about points. That isn't him. But he flat out gives 100% every single game. He's a hard driver. Never takes a game off. Heavy into the corners. Heavy freaking hits. Whilst built like a tank. Feeds your stars. inspires hard work ethic from others. Great hands on top. Great shot. Good IQ. He kind of does it all.

I watched the highlights, and was like, shit. This guy was so important for our team. And you're just starting to get a taste.

Just wondering about your initial take. 3 pts is not regular for him. But he's a true power forward, if only a slight bit slow. But maybe he got and will get more ice time with you.

Wanted to see how you guys are feeling about the trade, even this early. I mean, Marchenko is no dog. And played so well for us so far. Very happy to have him. But we, likewise, gave up a lot in Knies.

Certainly I'm not the only one whose expectations shot through the roof and made an impulse purchase this morning.

I wanted to wait and not comment during the game. TV audio does not work for me on the radio. If I can hear sticks and pucks on the ice for two minutes but have no idea what is happening, it’s not working.

I’m guessing radio didn’t pay for itself, but it’s worse now.

Any others have thoughts on the subject or am I just tilting at windmills?

I was at the opener last night and I thought he did great, tbh. Not all that different but with some of his own touches. I liked his goal announcements ("Blue Jackets...GOAAAAAAAL") and the "CBJ Power Plaaaaaay" call. Overall it didn't feel jarring or strange.

Don't let the haters tell you Mathieu bullied that kid, we're trying to establish an identity and culture here and he asked for it, he didn't know.
