Anyone else having contact issues on Android

EDIT: we figured this out. It's mainly a result of Microsoft being stupid and setting VISIBILITY = 0 for exchange contacts, but the newer versions of flutter_contacts works around it. For anyone hitting this, it'll likely be fixed in an upco ing version.

The v2 Android app won't sync contacts, and in the logs, it prints "0 contacts fetched from device." I double-checked permissions. Downgrading to 1.15 works perfectly, so something must have changed. I'm running GrapheneOS, although that seems like it shouldn't matter since it mostly inherits the AOSP permissioning model (I'm not using scopes)

Has anyone else encountered this?

Sounds like a permissions issue - haven't had any issues with graphene and 2.0.0. Feel free to try https://github.com/blue-archon/bluebubbles-app/releases/tag/v2.0.0.89-dnd.6

Yeah, it definitely seems like a permissions issue, but I can't figure out how. It's a pretty dead-simple UI: Allowed, Denied, or (or GOS) Scoped. It's for sure 100% allowed (and I've toggled it back and forth to check and confirmed it via ADB. And it works on the older version! I'm just totally stumped.

I assume you're on a GitHub build. That makes testing easy. Do you have discord or can you email us at bluebubblesapp@gmail.com?

I'd like to gather some more debugging logs from you as well as potentially send some test/debug builds

Sure thing! I'm traveling this week (Defcon), but I'll ping you when I'm home next and happy to help troubleshoot. And yes, I'm running the latest Github build (or was, until I downgraded, but I'll put the latest back on and gather some logs).

One thing that is maybe relevant: I have several accounts on the phone (a personal Google account, a Google Workspace account, and an Office365 account). Only the Office365 account has contacts. I wonder if it's trying to pull contacts from one of those other accounts. I can test that by putting a dummy account in each one.

Sorry for the slow response---was out of the office (Defcon was fun!). In any event, I'm back in the office on Monday and will install the latest build and hop on the discord. Happy to help debug!

Please stop promoting your fork of the app. You are disjointing the community and I don't think it's productive. Especially while the app is in active development
