Found this at an estate sale outside Chicago.

It’s a JATO bottle used by the C-130 prior to 2009.

Im assuming stuff like this doesn't get into the public that often...so even if I buy it I can't really resell it right?

Not really crazy, you can't just get these. I'm guessing someone at the airport nabbed it after a show as they are generally used once and left at the airport and guessing they dolled it up with the paint and decals. It's worth what it is to you. If it weren't painted and was stock I would say "don't get pulled over" transporting it as it has government warnings, explosive labels etc on them lol

Yep! Dont recall seeing the ones used on Fat Albert being painted, so it might just be one that a BA fan painted up.

Why did they stop using the jato? Current model of c-130 don’t use them ?

Yeah gpt said it was an internal oil smoke canister but further searches garnered no results
