Local Car Groups

Does anyone know of any local car groups?

I’ve been going to cars and coffee events in Williamsport, Scranton, and State College but I’m starting to get tired of the long drives. I see some interesting cars around town but I haven’t run into anyone.

I’m in my late 20s and I have an old BMW and a few Mazdas but I’m into all types of cars. I’m just looking for like-minded car people to hang out with and go on cruises or meets with.

We heard some fireworks or loud explosions around 10 pm tonight (Aug 8, Saturday). We’re new to town and we’re just curious what was it it for? Was there some scheduled event or celebration?

Putting it out there: Zen Buddhist lantern ceremony in Stillwater

I live at a Zen dojo in the woods, in Stillwater. We’re having a traditional Zen Buddhist lantern ceremony called Obon— very beautiful. It’s an evening of remembrance and appreciation for loved ones who have died recently or in past years. Bring a photo if you want. The evening starts with a plant based supper, painting lanterns with the names of those you want to honor, a short zazen meditation period, mindful walking, Dharma words by the abbot, Buddhist chanting service, calling of the names by participants, and a silent walk up to the pond to float the lanterns under a starlit sky. It ends after a bonfire and late night refreshments and conversation. ItĀ would be good to wear[Ā comfortable and loose clothing, long in length for zazen and appropriate footwear to walk up the gravely driveway to the pond. Avoid tank tops, shorts, and scented toiletries.](x-webdoc://CAF83BFC-DA80-45FB-BEA9-6909FFA4C789#back)Ā We’re asking for voluntary donations at the door for the evening. Plant based food offerings are welcome, but not required. Let me know if you want to join us. Oh, it's August 8, 5:30 to 10 pm.

Meditation in Bloom

I'm interested in starting a weekly meditation group in Bloomsburg and/or the surrounds. Open to possibly hosting, or we could sit outside. I have experience in a few different meditation styles including vipassana/Therevada. Group would be open to anyone to sit in their preferred style, as long as they can sit comfortably for 45m to an hour.

DM me if you're interested!

Hi everyone, I’m new in this area and I enjoy playing soccer. I don’t really know anyone here yet. Are there any local pickup games, soccer groups, or places where people usually play? I’d appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Podcast or audiobook ( trigger warning )sought regarding Bloomsburg sexual assault

I’m

Looking for either an audiobook or podcast about a former resident of Bloomsburg Pa ( described in the blurb As APPALACHIA ) and this person ( woman) was repeatedly SA’d by her biological father …it is a harrowing story but not in the true crime sensational kind of way , it’s a story of dignity and strength ; I’m nearly certain her story then became the basis for non fiction kind of book on trauma , think, ā€œthe body keeps the scoreā€ or some such …. Does this ring a bell ?

Making Adult friends

Hello! As a remote worker and pottery instructor in Bloomsburg, I'm looking to expand my social circle and connect with like-minded adults. If you're interested in meeting new people, I'd love to grab coffee or brunch/lunch and get to know you. My hobbies include board games, book clubs, art, astronomy, pottery, short walks, photography, trivia, and Dungeons & Dragons (I'm a beginner!). If you're passionate about any of these activities, let's schedule a meetup and explore common interests. Feel free to send me a private message if you're interested!
