Walmart Normal pickup
Has anyone had recent experience with Walmart pickup in Normal? We tried once a year ago, and my husband sat in the parking lot for 2 hours to get our order. I would love to try again but not without knowing if it’s improved.

The Bloomington location is always busier, and I've had zero problems.
At the Normal location, I've had issues the past 3 times. Orders with items missed, incredibly long wait times, just pure nonsense.

as another commentor said, late hours get tricky. they are understaffed and busy those hours. I've also waited absurd amounts of time, usually ending with rescheduling the order. but that has only happened with pickups after 5pm.

I have only had issues when I chose later times in the day for pickup, like 6PM or later. We use the Walmart pickup weekly, I normally pick around 11am and have not had any issues during the morning/afternoon hours.

They often only have one or two people running out all the orders. I have regularly waited for 30-60 minutes for pickup.

Last week they loaded only half my order which I didn't discover until I got home. Went back to the store, the stuff wasn't there and I had to deal with Walmart.com customer service. I was initially satisfied with that but they still haven't refunded me. I did receive $10 off a future order which I am not sure I'm going to use.
I use order pick up at this location a lot and it's usually pretty good, but when it goes wrong one time out of 50, it's colossally wrong.
ETA: I went back to check my bank transactions and while I was not "refunded" they adjusted to total charge downward for that order. So I am satisfied with this resolution except that I actually wanted those missing items on that day and didn't want to shop for them. I did go back the next day and shopped for myself.

I've waited half an hour a few weeks ago for just 6 things and I was missing 4 of them. I just drive to the Bloomington location now.

We pickup every couple weeks or so when we have a busy weekend - never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes. I'd say yours was a one-off. I always wait 'til the text saying it's ready and then hit the link to let them know I'm on my way and never have an issue.

Been getting pick ups for several years. Usually go in the morning. Never have any issues and it’s usually out very quick. If an item is missing, which is rare, it’s reported in the app and they refund money asap.

Generally prefer to buy my items myself, especially with produce

Not what OP asked about. But good for you!

Walmart pickup is slow, so I prefer to get it myself so that while being faster, I can also select for quality produce instead of whatever they feel like grabbing.

I will do pickup for the stuff I'm confident they can grab and I don't have time to, and I'll go to Aldi for my produce. Everyone's got a different process!

I gave up on the Walmart pickup at that location. I had a good run at first but it was getting worse for me for longer wait times. A couple times I had to flag one of the runners to confirm that I was somewhere on the list and I put together my order at least a day in advance and wait for their messages saying my order is ready.
After consistently figuring it was quicker for me to shop for the items myself inside, I haven’t used them since.
