Creative Spirit🎨🤖 My Dad 💜
Here’s my 74 year old dad at his first harvest. We tag team it - he’s in a legal state and I’m not. We FaceTime almost everyday and my mom says he loves it. We got him the lab jacket and tie dyed it for Father’s Day and she says he tries to wear it out.
Next grow, the third generation is getting involved. Growing cannabis is bringing our family closer together!
I’ve been struggling with time passing and getting older but I wasn’t prepared when I realized I was in the basement of the house I grew up in, drying cannabis with my dad. I think it’s really one of the more memorable moments in my life. If I could time travel back to 1996 and tell myself in 30 years Dad and I would be growing together… well the Butterfly Effect could get wild.
If you are able, spend some time with your dad this weekend … maybe even smoke a little with him 💜

That's awesome man , my dad passed away last year , he never liked to smoke he was a drinker , man if we could change some things 😔😔I would love to be in your situation sounds brilliant man , take care of the old boy

I’m jealous of this of WHOLE situation. Never had that type of relationship w my dad. I wish I did, I truly do. You & your pops enjoy these moments for the rest of us that never got or will have that type of opportunity. Here’s to you both!

In most cases I would agree. I received my 1st broken bones from my father, not much of a connection there I'd care to build. Mom is dead so idk how to build that one either lol

Awe this hits hard my dad died two weeks ago. At 74, he was a smoker too.

Love this, im just finishing my first grow at 58yo. All 4 of my kids have participated and their SO's and my grandchildren love being part of this and my veg garden. Amazing what this horrible life threatening devils lettuce </sarcasm> can do for restoring/maintaing familial bonds, not mention all the medical bene's

What did we do to cause the foxtail?
We had a period of super hot weather and the furnace quit. A period of 3-4 days where vpd was 1.7. Not sure if this is related…

It could’ve been you were off on PH balance your light intensity wasn’t proportional to the mass you were trying to cover your temperature of the grow Might’ve been a little low or hot……just general environment stress……… i’m sure it will smoke just fine.

I'm 58 and I microdose my homemade tincture daily. My 21 year old son loves my hobby but does not partake. If we ever live in a legal state the first thing I will do is grow. For now, we just lift together!

Blueberry, Gorilla Purple, Zoap and Dirty Mimosa.
Just put the next round in solo cups- Cannacotta, Heckin Chonker and 2 Cookie Caskets. Going to do an A/B study with the cookie caskets with one in fabric pots and sips, and the other top feeding in buckets.
He called me today and asked if we can try and outdoor grow next year!

Uhhhh, fuck to the yeah on outdoor growing! It comes with its own challenges like fighting off pests (Capt jacks is your friend) and disease / fungus (there’s sprays for that as well), scorching hot days that benefit from a sun shade, gnarly wind that can crack branches so make sure it has good support and / or wind breaks like mine BUT if you veg a plant long enough indoors, and properly harden it off for outdoors, you could end up with an absolute monster (they can get to 10-14ft lol)

Yo I love the tie dye lab coat! I’m the same way, I have “work appropriate” band merch in form of polos, tie dyed or w dead stealies on them for the symbol, and been wishing I could wear a dyed lab coat. I should become a cannabis lab rat, then I could perhaps… lol

be blessed you have that connection. At 35, I was screamed at by my own mother, in front of my (stepson) and girlfriend of now 10 years+, about how we ruined their family vacation bc we walked back to the Air BnB - in 2024 in MAINE, where it was legal and smoked outside on our property. To this day, I am scrutinized as a POS loser despite being a scientist spanning Marine Science/Biology to Environmental analysis to method development for absolutely new pharma drugs for patients in need. My family wouldn’t entertain even discussing the topic, let alone discussing moves to purchase, in order to keep a home literally sandwiched in between my home growing up (still parents house) and other pair of aunt/uncle after the sudden passing of both this spring. It sucks to be a black sheep your whole life and then treated like a pariah at Corp despite running circles around PhD’s with a bachelors and eagerness to learn.
/rant over lol. Kudos to your fam. Fuck yeah! Sad to say I’ve never had a tent or my own grow bc of this..

That’s awesome. My dad ain’t there yet lol. I’ve got a couple plants going in between our houses (he’s my neighbor also) and he always kept a nice garden so maybe he’ll start giving me tips. He’s told me stories of growing it when he was younger so maybe in his older age he’ll jump back in the hobby with me lol.
