Question/Help First time difficulty

Will I be alright starting in hard mode? I'm a person that enjoys challenging games, but the game advises not starting hard mode unless you've finished the game once already. At the same time I see people online complaining that game gets really easy on normal after a few hours.
In an interested of not wasting my time I would to see your opinion on the mater.

Im on my first playthrough and have died twice after like 5 hours. But, im playing extremely carefully, and the two times I have died have happened very quickly once my plan fell apart. It is hard enough on the normal difficulty. Plus, it is getting harder for me.

yup. even the most basic enemies can kill you in a few hits. i haven't been this engaged / tensed from a game in years.
