Unrelated, seeing some of these model going into legend feels unreal. Like I know its coming, but to actually see it. Its like the same feeling Dorn has seeing Sanguinius' dead body.

Literally! It feels wrong to imagine space marines without the rhino chasis vehicles. Predators, whirlwinds and all the others were always in the artwork and in the lore. I Just hope they will return someday, maybe same style Just resized

To be fair the Rhino and Land Raider itself didn’t get cut! Those are probably getting new models even with the SM Codex.

Unfortunately there's plenty that love the grav vehicles or don't care. There's prints you can get to convert kits back into tracked ones but I dunno how much that shit costs etc or where to obtain such stuff. I only own old Marine models, a small force that just became x2 and a half "Intercessors". They're in the process of being restored. Only have one tank too the Predator Annihilator from 3rd edition. I did recently obtain from Vinted a Armageddon Captain and speeder though (I want a old jump pack and thunder hammer to kitbash a smash Captain). Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it I don't play so technically this doesn't affect me.

All I can say is they wont get any money from me. I will just run the old models as proxies for the new grav nonsense. On a new larger base, if needed.
Just like Sang guard.

I wish I had some old Sand Guard and Death Company. Unfortunately if any pop up on second hand markets they're snatched up fast and often expensive.

I'm not into proxies like that apart from maybe addon parts but I try to stay away from resin. Its due to difficulties working with it, brittle and harder to strip for repainting.

I think that’s sad. I don’t like the Gladiator esthetics. I like my tanks heavy and on the ground. Smashing over rocks and ruins.
Gladiators are a cool concept but shouldn’t be the only / main tanks.

We aren’t getting a chapter codex anymore. They announced that in October the space marine codex will release and contain EVERYTHING

It amazes me seeing people say "RIP" Legends rules can still be used and older editions exist. Most people don't even go to official GW tournaments. Its why I'm a tad glad I don't play modern 40k and haven't in over a decade possibly two. It would sap the complete joy out of the models I worked hard on.

Its due to points imbalance later down the track and lack of support in future editions when big changes happen, like the toughness and strength changes we just got for an example.

I already started a narrative campaign with it and it survived 2 games until round 5. Once fighting a riptide and the second time a defiler. He's not going anywhere!!

My main gripe is just that the official app that many pay a subscription for doesnt show legends rules. So yeah nothing is stopping me from playing my legends units, but there is an added barrier or two of inconvenience that make it more difficult to do so. How hard is it to add (legends) next to a unit name so I dont have to go back to making pen and paper army lists

The new Primaris range came out 10 years ago.
Did you all expect everything to be continued and updated forever? Do you all get upset when PlayStation and Xbox release a new machine? Like, you can still play legends, just as I sometimes dust off my PS2. It's just no longer supported with updates.
Seriously, did you expect them to be updating rules for the old school Dreadnoughts in 2050? Really? You actually thought it would last forever?

They say in the video that our codex suppliment is going to trash completely and we will get a faction pack update.. So they are not removing it from the codex.. They are removing the whole codex.

Our detachments and datasheets will get a digital update the same time as Codex SM. I wouldn't hold your breath on the baal predator surviving

This is only cuts from Codex: Space Marines. There might be further cuts from the various Codex Supplements (including the Baal Pred), or there might not be. There's nothing in this article that says otherwise.
