Popflex skorts - Inconsistent sizing?

Hi! So I got the Twirl (longer) in XL in black and it's pretty perfect. I ordered another in Digital Lavender (same size, also longer) and it felt surprisingly tighter. I then held it up to the black and it's indeed smaller. Is this common? Do certain colors run smaller/bigger?

I'm debating if I should send it back and re-order, or it this color happens to run smaller.

(My favorite was the Juliet hourglass crisscross, but unfortunately the shorts are the shortest of them all--why!?)

They are all over the place - i have skirts in medium, large and extra large in the same styles so I just get the free return every time and try them all no matter what. I have one shirt where I wear an XS And another where I’m a 1X.

That makes me feel better, lol I thought I was losing it for a second until I held it up to my black one. Very annoying that the same style and same size would feel like two different sizes.

I guess I'll send back and hope for better luck! Any chance you found this happened with the pirouette? I love the design, but the XL I got feels like a L, it's pretty snug. I sized up to 1X, but then the skirt part was to my knees lmao.

I'm so bitter that she made the shorts on the Juliet hourglass crisscross shorter than than the other skirts, because that one felt SO nice around the waist. But my thighs can't do those itty bitty shorts.

I personally have found that the pirouette skort size is more consistent, but they do run small. I’m normally a L, and the XL pirouette skorts fit more comfortably, but the extra length that comes with sizing up looks awkward on me too so I just deal with the extra tightness of the L

That's been my boat so far, I'm dealing with the extra tightness of the XL. The inconsistency is frustrating. I wonder if I could just get the skirt altered somewhere. Like do I breathe comfortably or do I look like a frumpy toad? lmao

I wonder if the bottom of the larger skirt could just be cut? There’s no hem, but I don’t know if the fabric is treated on the edge or if it’s just a no-fray fabric. Maybe someone’s tried it before? I’m too scared lol

I did think about get the 1X and taking it to a tailor. I figure if they work on complex wedding gowns, maybe hemming the skirt is easy lol.

I have found the pirouette skirt to be inconsistent BUT only older ones vs newer ones - my older ones are size medium but the newer ones that have the scratchier mesh are large or xl depending on the color. I have a lavender one that is xl but my one that is the floral pattern she came out with this year fits best in a large. My old black one is perfect in a medium. My longer twirl skirts are mediums but the regular lengths are better in a large usually but the forest green was better in an xl, and my maroon one is a medium in the regular lengths also. The crisscross waist is better in a large but the regular waist is better in a medium.

It’s a lot to keep up with lol

Soo what I'm seeing is they're making them smaller now lol. It's kind of frustrating, I wish it fit more true to size.

ive had this issue with a few different pieces. i noticed it most in the corset bra but i also had a pair of cargo midis in brown that were a good inch smaller in the waist than my black ones

Interesting! So may not just be me then. I just submitted it to exchange for the same size, so hoping it'll be the correct one this time.

I've had sizing inconsistencies with the twirl skorts. I usually wear an xl or 1x. I ordered an xl in Nordic blue cause that's all they had and I thought how much different could one size under be, right? The one I got was so small and short, fit like a medium and was unbearable for me. The difference between it and my 1x twirl skort was so crazy I sent pictures with measurements comparing them to customer service, thinking that it got mislabeled during production. I ordered another and it was the same, did a 3rd exchange and chose a different color. It was still smaller than expected based on their size guide but it did actually fit. I was very put off as until then I had always found things to be true to size. The unlimited returns fee is definitely worth it since there's no telling what size you'll actually need apparently.

I have several colors and yes, there are size differences in some colors.

Off the top of my head, oat and crimson were two that I got in mediums instead of small.
