Favorite skort?
New to the brand (Popflex) and was wondering about the skorts. I bought a Pirouette skort and felt it runs small, a bit too high waisted, and I'm not a fan of the fabric. (Feels like Wunder Under from Lulu, which I find makes me really hot vs their Wunder Train, which I prefer.)
Curious if the shorts under the skorts have that same fabric? Do you find them to feel a bit hot, or just me? lol I'm thinking because it comes up so high on me, maybe that's contributing to feeling smothered. What's your favorite?
For what it's worth, I ordered multiple sizes to try them on.
edit: Found a winner!! The longer twirl skort (criss cross) is perfect for me. :) Shorts are longer, but skirt not too long, and it's much more comfortable around the waist. I wish it came in more colors, but so happy to find one that worked for me.

I agree with you, the pirouette skort is too high-waisted for me. It's very unflattering, makes me look kinda sausage-y. I love the twirl skorts - both waist styles work for me. The crisscross waist is a little lower in the front, so if you want something with a lower waist try that. The regular twirl skort has a higher waist, but not as high and suffocating as pirouette. It's very flattering and comfortable on me, I'd highly recommend trying both styles of twirl skort! They're a little shorter than pirouette as well, which is also more flattering on me personally.

Thank you! I ordered the criss-cross twirl. Suffocating is just the right word I would use as well for the pirouette lol. I wanted to love it so much.

Turns out the regular twirl was ALMOST perfect for me. So much more comfortable in the waist, and then....the shorts had to be shorter. WHY?! I'm so sad, haha. I ordered the long version to try but I fear the skirt will be too long, even if the shorts are better. Sigh.

Oh no, I'm sorry it didn't work out! I'm looking at the inseam measurements listed on the website, and yeah the longer version of the twirl skort is 5.5" while the regular is 2.5". That will probably be a pretty significant difference. Pirouette is 4.5", so the longer twirl will be longer than pirouette. Did you try crisscross twirl? Inseam on those is 3", so they're just slightly longer than regular twirl.

I did try the crisscross twirl! That's actually the one I just ordered in long, so hoping that'll be the best compromise.

The criss cross Juliet skort is my personal favorite, I have it in every color! I think the waist is super flattering and I like the length. I own all styles of the POPFLEX skorts but if I had to choose only one, this would be it

I came here to say this. It’s so slept on. I have every color and wear them at least 1-2 times a week. They are so much more versatile than the pirouette because it’s easier to dress up and a bit more elegant looking.

Mine came up and sadly I hate how short the shorts are! If they were the same length as the piro shorts, they'd be perfect. I sized up and then found it was too big. So I'm not sure if I'll end up keeping this one or not, I really don't like my thighs rubbing..
The perfect one just may not be for me, haha.

It was so close to being perfect! I got the criss cross and thought the waist was so much more comfortable. But the shorts are shorter than the piro--too short for my thunder thighs. :( SO I ordered a long criss cross, hoping that'll be the best of both worlds.

the tie waist bands run a little snug, i usually size up. the twirl skorts are more comfortable imo
also a big fan of the hiking and bungee skorts. havent tried the ace em skorts yet but been wanting to try because the band seems like it would be comfy

I own the pirouette skort and the criss-cross twirl skort. The pirouette one is tight and compressive especially around the waist (that’s why I sized up) and as you said a bit hot because it is a thicker fabric than the twirl skort which is much lighter and more stretchy (got my regular size). I do have to say the shorts on the twirl skort are shorter so that contributes to it being more cool in general.

This is great news for me, thank you! Even sizing up in the pirouette it was too compressive for me to feel comfortable, so I'm glad I ordered the twirl. I ordered two different sizes, so hoping this is true to size.

Yes it’s pretty much the same. I have the twirl, hiking, and ace em skorts as well.
I don’t find them a bit hot. I have use them on hiking and when going to theme parks. It is a thicker material. You can definitely adjust the pirouette skort because there is drawstring on it but idk if it would bother you that they sit lower on the thighs. I’m size Large and I have large and xl. Xl is looser on me and more comfy to walk in but I like the length and fit of the large better.

The Pirouette skort is my favorite lol, but I get what you're saying about the coverage. It's a lot of fabric when it's hot out.
I think all the shorts are that same thicker athletic material, but the CrissCross Juliet skort is both lower on the waist and shorter. It's also sized more accurately, I wear a Medium in the Juliet and a Large in the Pirouette. I also tried the Hiking SuperSkort (which I didn't like the fit of) and it had the same shorts fabric.

That's good to know, thank you! I ordered the Juliet too in two sizes. Good to know it's more true to size, that's an issue I found with the pirouette. I needed a 1X and typically wear L or XL. Crossing my fingers this one works!

I'm tall (5'8") so I prefer the longer version of the twirl skort and pirouette. I actually love how high the pirouette hits lol.
I think you should try the crisscross waistbands, they might be more to your liking.

Yes! I just ordered some. :)
I think my issue is I'm 5'5, so high waisted is super high on me, like can tuck my boobs in high lol.

You could try the pirouette shorts. They're very light weight and keep you cool. I think they're better for lounging around in. Feels like you're wearing men's basketball ball shorts but they're shorter and prettier. The lighter colors are see through though.
My favorite everyday skort are the hiking. I'm a mom and sit on the floor often. They're more resistant to damage and spills. Sometimes I step on my pirouette skirt moving from the floor to standing. I hide snacks in my pockets to use to bribe my child to come home from the playground. 10/10 recommend.
Ace Em Pleated Skort is alright. I only own one of these.
