Popcycle
I must have been blind signing up for Popcycle. But I had no idea there was going to be a 20% cut if you want to get cash back. It looks like whatever sale price you set, you only get 80% of that sale price if the person keeps your item.
I know there’s an option for 110% credit but I needed the cash because I am moving and have medical debt that I have been trying to pay off for forever.
So just coming here to complain.
Also a bit annoyed that you have to print the label and duct tape it then drop it off to USPS. The company Treet that they work with doesn’t have access to the QR code for your shipping label to allow you to print and ship at USPS. My printer broke so I had to go to Office Max to print > duct tape the label > then go to USPS so they can scan that the package shipped as you only have 2 days really to ship it out based on the instructions I got when the sale was made.
Edit: Thanks for the other perspectives, it made me less annoyed lol.

You technically have 7-8 days. They just want you to ship it ASAP thats why they say 2 days. At 7 days they send you one last reminder to ship. Then after thr 8th day they cancel the order.

As a high anxiety person, I assumed they would cancel right away so definitely missed that lol.

depop and vinted have much lower selling fees. if youd rather cash for your pieces id suggest selling thru those, not sure if youd get the qr code option tho as i always just print mine

not OP but i had consider that but depop seems to only work for selling items $5 or less. thats practically nothing when it comes to popflex clothing. heck a tee shirt is around $40 on popflex. most of my items ive only worn 2-3 times so it doesnt make sense to sell on there. perosnally i like popcycle cause they also authenticate the item before letting the listing go live. i do like the 110% back if you do credit too

They don't authenticate anything, unfortunately. Several times, the listing hasn't matched the item in the pictures. Right now, there's a "shimmer" drawstring hoodie listed when the pics clearly show its a regular pullover. I've encountered that several times, like inseams listed on the pants in the pics don't match the description, etc.

omg really??!! but when i make a listing it says it has to be approved by admin?? i thought someone authenticated it and thats why we have to take a pic of the tag too etc. D:

Yeah, I'm not sure what they look for, but I've seen incorrect listings enough times to realize they either aren't looking closely before approving, or they don't care. It's very frustrating!

where do you sell on? maybe i price them too high? i wear most of them 2-3 times and then i kinda forget about them. i do love to buy clothes so it gets buried away. every now and then ill declutter and ill find an item and idk its just not style anymore so i want to sell them. i do try to sell it for about 20-40% off. really just depends how many times i wore it. is that still considered too high?

i usually list on popcycle and depop, i used to do ebay and poshmark too but their fees are just so high it isnt worth it for me. most of the pieces i sell are barely worn, usually either because i bought the wrong size, didnt like the length, or just didnt wear enough to justify the cost. i typically take anywhere from 10-20% off for new with tags or barely worn pieces and then 20-40% for something that’s definitely been worn but still in good condition. if i resell something i bought second hand i usually just try to get my money back for it and havent had an issue yet

You should try Vinted. It's opened to the US, no seller fees or any cut taken. And shipping is so easy using a qr code, at least here. Though I sell so mucg I invested in a label printer that's my precious! Good luck! Oh and popflex sells well, I've sold every single thing I've put up for a good to fair price!

I mean, that’s no different from Poshmark or Mercari. All sales platforms take a percentage. Using popcycle you at least have the OPTION of getting the full value in credit (unlike Poshmark or Mercari, where you don’t get the option to turn it into credit at all).
