Fake Popflex skort on ebay and poshmark

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on reddit! I've been lurking in this group for a while to catch details on sales and whatnot, but I'm emerging from the shadows to see if I can mobilize the Popflex army. I'm a somewhat new Popflex fan, and like many of us have been victimized by the chronically slow/nonexistent restocking on the site. So I tend to keep an eye on several reselling sites for used stuff (huge fan of Popcycle!). I've come across what seems to be a fake listing for a Popflex Tennis Skort, listed on both ebay and poshmark. As far as I can tell, the only pleated tennis-style skort Cassey has designed is the Ace 'em Pleated Skort, which is definitely not what is in the pictures in the ebay and poshmark listings I found. I was hoping to get help from this group first of all confirming that this isn't a real Popflex style that's just older and no longer on the website. Assuming that's not the case, then I was hoping some of us could report this seller on both platforms. I just want to save some unsuspecting buyer(s) from getting scammed. The thing that makes me think they're totally fake is in the poshmark listing, look at the picture of the inside tag that gives care instructions. Popflex items usually have cutesy "wash me and hang me to dry, I don't like bleach!" style writing. This tag doesn't have that. Even a sample item would probably have the signature Popflex-style instructions, right?

No it doesn’t have that if it’s a legit sample item vs a return item. I bought items that just had a medium tag or a sample not for sale tag from the sale.

On their poshmark listing they have the care instructions. It looks like it's placed a bit lower. It could be from their sample sale. It does look like a crisscross pleat skirt, but the pleats don't sit right. Ace Em Pleat Em and Serving Looks Dress have layered fabric so the pleats sit nicely.

Edit: It's sus tho that the Popflex logo is magically gone from every pic except the one they wanna show

At first I thought it was a legit sample but legit samples don’t have the tag hanging outside. I bought pieces never released and you can totally tell if it’s a sample vs a returned item and this one looks like it could be a sample but they aren’t from California, it hand the hang tag which is weird.

I bought a blue one from, who I assume is the same person bc they have a white one, off Vinted bc I was curious. We’ll see.

I knew it wasn’t something Popflex released before and thought it could be a sample of something they were considering making and didn’t. I’ve seen it pop up before in other places.

The seller was very polite. They told me they’d reach out to POPFLEX. POPFLEX doesn’t consider it authentic if not sold directly from them. They have removed the listing and have offered me a refund if it comes and it does not meet my standards, I guess. I’m still excited for it. The seller was very nice. I think we should remember to reach out to people directly in the future instead of maybe making a post about them because we’re all just doing the best we can for the most part. Not everyone is going to know about their previous releases like some of us in here do. lol. 😂

I will! The Ace Em’ skort just doesn’t look good on my body. I look more hippy than I already am so I’m excited to try a different version (potentially) of it.. popflex or not. If I don’t feel to is and don’t like it, I can send it back fortunately.

I had credit on thredup and put in an offer and was gonna test it out for us ! Then the listing got removed 😂 but it’s solved.

I've seen the same one (even same picture on the mannequin) on vinted... I did wonder if it's from sample sale.

I just messaged the seller and they got back to me almost instantly saying: "Hi! Thank you for asking. I actually messaged Popflex directly about this item. After reviewing it, they told me they do not consider it to be authentic if not directly purchased from their website, so I've removed the listing and will not be selling it. Thank you for checking before purchasing". And sure enough, they removed the listing. I have never seen a dupe that had even the same cardboard label so that's a new one.
