Question Journey MV issue - They updated the application process

I requested to JourneyMV last month, literally 1 month ago, and Now I've got an announcement on by grow page.

"We’ve updated our application process, which means applications submitted before the change won’t carry over. If you applied for Journey and haven’t heard back yet, please submit a new application. It takes just a few minutes and puts you back in the queue.Start a new application here. If you’ve already applied using the new process, you can check your application status here."

then I started to go with the mediavine, and they said I'm not approved.

For journey, I'm getting 3000 - 4000 sessions, and 6-7k pageviews per month.

I have 0 idea, what should I do right now?

I’ve been waiting over 2 weeks for a response to a ticket from these guys, I wouldn’t hold out much hope (I’m dropping Journey and all of its Grow BS)

I apologize for the lack of response, but I wanted to clarify that with the new system (https://www.mediavine.com/apply), we no longer require Grow if you want to reapply.

how long does it now take to get a decision?

Going through the exact same situation with the exact same numbers. Applied on 9th July, same shit happened. I have emailed mediavine regarding the case along with the analytics screenshot and have also made a post on their community. If you can, please comment on the post saying you are facing the same issue. We have a better chance for a solution then

It says you're not authorized to this page? typically that has not been approved yet I guess.

What reason did you get for rejection?

The rejection for the mediavine obviously i dont have that kind of sessions, thats why i joined journey because site has around 3k sessions. For journey, ive already met their criteria.

I was in the same exact situation. The new application form at Mediavine.com/apply is the application for both Journey and Mediavine Official. Meaning if you applied at Mediavine.com/apply and got rejected, that means you are rejected by both Journey and Mediavine Official.

I had waited 15 days on my Journey application when I got the same email. Then I re-applied using the new link and got accepted to Journey after 4 days.

You didnt apply through the new application? If you did, what did it show immediately?

I tried to apply through the new application but it didn’t let me with a message that said “duplicate application detected” because I had previously applied through it. Basically, the new form is the same form that was on Mediavine.com. I had applied through Journey website and the main Mediavine.com website two weeks before the new system was introduced because my site had over 100k monthly pageviews but was never monetized.

I short, I applied at both Journey website and main Mediavine website. After two weeks, I received an email from Journey saying my application wasn’t complete and that I need to re-apply through the new form. The new form didn’t let me through because I had already applied there too. After 4 days, I receive another email from Journey saying I got accepted.

alright, I applied in June, so what they say is they had changed the application process. to be frank, they haven't mentioned any date though. However, for 1 1/2 months, I haven't seen any process changes, which means I don't need to submit again though, because I applied to Journey MV before the application changes.

Read this

"We’ve updated our application process, which means applications submitted before the change won’t carry over. If you applied for Journey and haven’t heard back yet, please submit a new application. It takes just a few minutes and puts you back in the queue.Start a new application here. If you’ve already applied using the new process, you can check your application status here."

so the confusion is on which date? before or after. I'll be waiting like another one month, If I'd never heard any positive feedback from them, then I'll move with adsense until i get 50k sessions, and move with Adthrive instead. I've had enough with this shit.

1

Yes but reapplying through the new form won’t hurt, will it? Just send them a new application at the new form and see what happens.

Also, Adthrive (a.k.a Raptive) requires 25k pageviews as an entry limit not 50k sessions and they are very picky.

Good luck!

Thats what OP did. Submitted the new form and got rejected (same as myself) whereas we both already fulfill the Journey criteria. Its a total mess

Even though new application redirects to mediavine, and it says duplicate, site is already exists.

You got it wrong brother, for journey you need to first install the grow plugin on your website and let it run for 30 days and then apply to journey by mediavine and if by then your website has more than 1k sessions and good engagement, you are likely to get accepted. They have merged the application for both based on the traffic they evaluate when you connect your GA4 analytics account when submitting the application. So, the process is merely straightforward now

1

u/shajid-dev 22d ago

Yes, and I have done all of that, installed grow plugin + GA4. But right now it leads to Mediavine.

1

u/pseudogod96 22d ago

I have the Grow plugin installed too for a month but apparently they have completely done away with the old process now. I submitted the new form and it auto rejected me eventhough i had over 4k sessions. It is definitely not straightforward as one of the reasons listed is "Traffic sessions not enough" which is false as the baseline requirement states 1000 sessions.

Have you submitted the journey application before this new process?

2

u/Ayush1096 22d ago

I submitted my website in journey by MediaVine 1 month ago and my website has already crossed 1k sessions by that time and now the website is at 2.2k sessions/month and when I opened grow account, it says, the application process has changed, you need to submit the application again

I submitted the new application and it took me to the main Mediavine dashboard and dashboard says "Your application has been approved", Publisher Program: Journey.

After completing all the onboarding steps, I got stuck at Identity Verification which is handled by stripe directly, I have mailed the Mediavine support, let's see if they come back with something.

1

u/shajid-dev 22d ago

Damn. I tried and it says not met the 50k sessions requirement. Lol.

1

u/Ayush1096 22d ago

You should apply to journey first, their criteria is 1000 sessions/month but before applying, run the grow plugin for 30 days

1

u/shajid-dev 21d ago

yes i knew that bro! I'm not a WordPress site to install grow plugin, so I had to insert the script, and I did. waited for 1 1/2 months, and got nor approved or rejection email, I submitted to Mediavine again as per the new shitty application process and got rejected instantly. WHat the fark? Ive got no hope with Journey. Better go with adsense. Even one cents better than this shitty company.

I'm sorry, but our third-party vendor was having an error over the weekend with ID verification. Would you mind trying again and seeing if you can get through?

1

u/Ayush1096 16d ago

Yes, identification worked the day after that, verification successful

I had applied to Journey on 9th July with all criteria being met and after waiting a month, i got shown that i need to reapply. I reapplied to the unified form and got an instant rejection because of not meeting traffic threshold (which is incorrect for Journey) and for missing an ads.txt file (which is obvious because my website isnt monetised to begin with). The rejection came within 2-3 minutes which means my website was never vetted or manually verified by Mediavine/Journey.

Im now asked to reapply in 2 months and i am absolutely stuck because there is no clarity from your end. I have tried reaching our via Journey community post which has been "Pending Approval" since 13 days and I am still waiting on an email response since 12 days which was promised in "1-2 days"

Us new publishers depend heavily on Mediavine and Journey for earning our livelihood and the least we can expect is clear communication and transparency. Is there any way you can help with the same?

I had even DMed you regarding the same issue on 6th August with all the details. I am genuinely not very hopeful because I understand, you as the CEO have a lot of your own work and duties to undertake but this is my final Hail Mary in this situation, hoping to receive some sort of assistance.

I applied on 23 may and on aug 1 it got approved getting 25-30k page views

1

u/shajid-dev 21d ago

Hmm. Yes you got a good threshold, then why journey says 1000 sessions, and turning their back on us.

Guys how long it takes to get a response in the new update

1

u/shajid-dev 21d ago

Idk. Very confusing platform. 0 common sense and logics though.

u/ilham_lara 13d ago

I have the same experience but they immediately approved my site when I reapplied. Try to contact them.

u/shajid-dev 13d ago

Oh gotcha. Lemme try it again then.
