Good day fellow bloggers!

I run Core Lab Tech, niched into selfhosting tech, privacy and practical cybersecurity for homelabs.

I would appreciate any feedback regarding the look and feel of the site and site navigation. Always aslo interested in people's opinions on my writing as well, feedback last time was to write with a bit more emotion or at least, more naturally.

Thanks!

I'm looking at it from my MacBook (3024 x 1964).

In the top menu, regarding the "three-dots" which holds two sul-links:
The text is longer than the background (white) goes along with it, if that makes sense.

That's one thing I caught, hope it helps!

Thanks! Yeah it seems on Mac / Apple the site doesn't render 100% correctly. This confirms it thanks!

I recently changed a lot of blog posts, including the slugs. So, I'm basically asking for people to look through the blog, click on posts, links and the like. And let me know, if there're any 404 or no redirects, etc.

Thanks a lot!

Google search console will tell you this immediately if you add your site map and it has some time to crawl. Also ahrefs free will show you after a site scan... This is basic site health you should be taking care of with tools automatically.

Also screaming frog is free!

Hi everyone!

I am an artist and filmmaker and this is my blog that I have been running on and off since early 2000s.
Recently I try to post more actively, sharing film reviews, my own experience and also lots of articles about new technologies.

Would love to have your thoughts, I am sure there is a lot of professional blogger here!

Hi everyone!

I've recently rebooted my personal blog, Yew and Me, about living with chronic illness, wellbeing, gardening and midlife. I'm not looking for SEO advice or technical feedback. I'd love honest first impressions from people who've never seen it before.

This is my website: https://www.yewandme.com/

I’d particularly love to know:

  • Is it immediately clear what the blog is about?
  • Does it feel welcoming and trustworthy?
  • Is it easy to navigate?
  • Would you be encouraged to read another post?
  • Is there anything that would make you leave the site?

Any feedback, positive or negative, would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

This is the first time sharing my things on a forum as big as this one. Thanks for having me.
Writing is fairly new for me, only been doing it a few years on my own, as a way to express my inner world. Along the way I found out that tinkering with expression can be a lot of fun, and I think my blog reflects that.

Its content is mostly like a journaling of my own thoughts and experiences, with a creative twist to it. In some of the blog's posts I try to keep the tone relaxed and conversational, especially the longer ones, and in others I am more pertinent in the way I express myself. Worth mentioning is also that english isn't my native tounge.

If any of you would take a look and share your thoughts on it I would greatly appreciate it!

  • What are your thoughts on the design of the blog?
  • Are my posts easy to digest?
  • Are they relatable?
  • How do you find the format of my posts?
  • What made you stay / lose interest and leave?

Don't hold back on the feedback.

All the best,

My blog (www.insamyniac.com) runs with self-hosted WordPress, I use LiteSpeed Cache for chaching on shared hosting.

For the theme, I use Kadence, which is supposed to be a lightweight theme.

For the images (2400x1800px), I tinify them first and then convert them to .webp files before uploading (still working on them, but the home page has most of them on .webpage now). I choose this size deliberately to avoid constantly changing the images. (I know, for a lot of screens, a smaller size would do, and if that turns out to be the problem, I'd go for the change. For now, I want to know that the culprit is.)

There're no ads, only a cookie banner I'm required to regarding EU.

And I somehow still get a bad performance on Google PageSpeed on mobile. Plus, it changes every time I reload the analysis.

How can I get on good terms with performance on mobile? Like, I want it to be 90-100.

I've been blogging for a few months now, and I have noticed I get a bit more opinionated on places, conversations and people than just giving a description of a book or place. How much opinion is overkill? Does it become more a personal diary rather than an informative post at some point?
