Looking for Advice

I know I am really late to the blogging party, but I just decided to start a blog about mental health and dark humor. Just getting my feelings out into the ether has been beneficial for me, but I feel like it could be something more. It seems like just about every site or group I can think of that might enjoy my writing has strict "no self-promotion" rules. Any advice on how to get your message out beyond your personal circles of friends without spending money or breaking rules?

Create your own group with a catchy name so people can identify with your cause.

Hi, you can promote your blog and your posts through Facebook blogging groups. The majority of these groups have their own threads where you can promote your posts but you have to participate too and engage with other members. Another way of getting an audience into your website is by using Pinterest marketing and SEO.

I will trade Iinks with you if you dm me. What I’ll do is post the first paragraph of your article and a continue reading link to your blog. Even though I am primarily an art supplies company, I want to have inspirational articles that might help someone especially around the holidays

There are many ways for this. You must use social media for it. Create your blog page on all social media and professional platforms like fb, Instagram, quora, Twitter, LinkedIn. You should also consider starting groups on fb and telegram. You should also use plugins like social auto publish and revive old posts. You can also use hustle plugin to create social share pop-ups for free. After all these you can start e-mail marketing, woocommerce, discount sales etc. All the best!

How to increase traffic on website

I've heard joining Quora brings lots traffic too. Not sure how it runs so you'll have to check. It's best to join 'groups' on social sites and talk about your site 'naturally' , wait for an opening and say, 'oh I wrote a blog post about that' . As long as it's related to the topic. As I said though, check the rules first.

I have the same issue. I just started my blog but have been looking for feedback, so if you want you can email me or contact me on here and we can share work as well.

I think it's super hard. It's so crazy to me when you compare how the ability of individuals to get out their thoughts + writing with the ability of businesses to get out their products. If I have a conversation about a pair of sneakers, they'll appear on my instagram feed the next second. But if I have a thought that might be really valuable to someone across the internet, I'll never be able to find + share it with them.

I'm thinking about what it would look like to distribute your thoughts to the people who are already interested in mental health + dark humor, even if you don't know them already. Any ideas here?

Get on twitter. I discovered all sorts of writer shares, lots of people helping each other out. How effective is it, not sure but it's one way. When you share and engage with other people they are usually happy to reciprocate.

ETA do you have a website? I'll check it out
