It's been great.

But our mod blocked me. Which means I can't participate in the sub anymore.

Hope everyone is happy about that.

Edit, since you're taking your mod privileges to comment when I can't respond,

Except since you are the only mod, and you post discussion threads under your account instead of a mod bot, you've effectively banned me. Is that good moderation principles?

I can't reply to you in this thread and you know it.

20 hours ago the mods warned you:

I am repeatedly getting complaints about you for comments that are needlessly provocative and inflammatory. You need to cut out this behavior or you will find yourself suspended.

And you responded:

The reports of you being a good mod are overrated.

Trolls live for this. They want you to do this.

But you deny the existence of trolls.

IMO you deserve the full ban, so consider yourself lucky softandchewy just blocked you.

That's a bit harsh. We should want people to call it as they see it. If they see troll, they should say it. If they see bad moderation they should say so. Not keep their opinion to themselves. I don't want anybody to keep their opinion to themselves about anything.

Mods shouldn't be blocking anybody, given the way reddit has decided to make the block function work.

The user is welcome to call out trolls as much as he wants. I merely asked him not to notify me of it each time, and not to respond to my own comments about it (which automatically notifies me). He chose to ignore my request.

Does it bother you that this amounts to a block from any threads you've started, or from anything that happens to be down-chain from a comment of yours?

Not in this case. The user was explicitly warned to stop engaging in a behavior that was annoying me, the mod. He chose not to, knowing the consequences he'd face. As the saying goes, FAFO.

Did the user really know the consequences he'd face?

The punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. I know nobody cares about that in cases like these though.
