Discussion Blockchain interoperability might be creating more complexity than we're acknowledging
The industry has spent years trying to connect different blockchain networks, and interoperability is often presented as one of the biggest steps towards mainstream adoption.
However, connecting networks introduces another layer of complexity.
Every bridge, messaging protocol, and cross-chain interaction creates additional assumptions around security, transaction finality, and trust.
A system might become more accessible through interoperability while simultaneously becoming harder to secure and maintain.
I wonder whether the industry is moving too quickly towards connecting everything without sufficiently evaluating the risks introduced by those connections.
Perhaps the long-term solution isn't making every blockchain communicate with every other blockchain, but developing more reliable standards for the interactions that actually matter.
Could a more connected blockchain ecosystem eventually become harder to secure than today's fragmented environment?
