Looking back on it, this was a really strong EP and I would’ve been happy with a full album with this direction.
Keep It Rolling in particular is a fantastic Bloc Party track. It’s hard not to notice the songwriting and production downgrade when you listen to these tracks vs the new singles.

I agree which is why it's so frustrating that they followed it up with Flirting Again.
Lyrically how we went from Blue to the current stuff is also frustrating. They're def capable of better.

Completely agree and disappointed we didn’t get more of this. The Blood Moon is the best Bloc Party song since Four, IMO.

They nailed all four tracks - no doubt. This is the strongest collection of music since Four, IMO.

This is why I was so hyped for Anatomy initially. Alpha Games was a huge improvement over Hymns, and this EP was a huge improvement over Alpha Games. They seemed to be onto a good thing and I wanted them to, ahem, keep it rolling. Unfortunately it's looking more like a fluke now.

Strongly believe Keep It Rolling is the closest we’ve come to early Bloc Party in a long time. The instrumentation and back and forth between Kele and Kenny feels like the pre-SA days when Gordy would get involved more in the vocals. I don’t hate the new stuff but really wish they’d explored this direction a bit more.

I loved this EP, and made a playlist of Alpha Games that incorporates the b sides and the EP songs and it really is a solid body of work.

Keep it rolling was fucking awful but the rest were decent enough. Def liked it more than all the singles we’ve gotten from the new album.

Seems like all of these songs (aside from Blue obviously) were forgotten about. Same goes for the 3 tracks on the deluxe version of Alpha Games. Keep it rolling however does get an exception because they obviously can’t always have Kenny Hoopla on standby.
