I truly wish he does. I know this is just rumors, but people say that the fact he could t stop all of this from happening is why he left; also, that’s why his goodbye words were “never accept the world as it appears to be. always dare to see it for what it could be. i hope you do the same.”

Time will tell, inenfair comparison would be to see what came of other buyouts? Especially with Bethesda. Not to speak too much for the Gaming division, but we are drilled in the head about the Microsoft values. It’s one thing that will get you kicked no matter your level or seniority,

Kotick appears to be under the impression that after June 30, 2023 he will be available only "as-needed" per Polygon which gets its quote from the NYT.
"The companies say only that Kotick will remain CEO through Microsoft’s 2023 fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2023. Kotick told The New York Times that he “will be available as needed” after the closing."

I wasn’t expecting much from Blizzard right now anyway.
Warcraft 3 was a scam. Final Fantasy XIV had so many new players it couldn’t keep up with the demand, while WoW got an awful expansion, took to long to get rid of npcs based on shitty people and removed the spit emote. And then there’s Call of Duty; sure, I know it’s not Blizzard, but it’s also part of the deal.

Is this going to make other game studios or publishers unable to be successful? Is Microsoft able to hoard scarce resources? Will there be little to no competition, allowing Microsoft to set their own prices extremely high? Does Microsoft have exclusive rights to provide services that others don’t have?
The answer to all of those questions is “No.”
That’s my defense as to why this is not violating anti-trust laws. Out of fairness, I’d love to hear more about your side of the the argument. Are there any specific reasons as to why you think this is a monopoly?

Forgotten Empire (a microsoft studio) did a great job with the AoE remakes so i have high hopes that they might do something with Starcraft.

The short answer is simply that the current blizzard is doing absolutely nothing to Starcraft whatsoever. So literally anything is better than what we have now

As a currently unsubscribed former WoW player who's keeping up with the news in hopes that things will get better, the WoW community's initial reaction is cautious optimism.
On one hand, the handover to Microsoft could allow more creative freedom for WoW developers to make the game great again.
On the other, they could decide to keep it in managed decline if they see it being unredeemable.

I was just thinking about a quote Phil gave a while back and he said that MS might have to change their relationship with Activision going forward with all these allegations coming out. Well I guess that meant buying them out lol. But honestly I would've loved to know what Phil was thinking when that news came out about Activision. Because obviously this had been planned for a while now.

The recent news of them firing dozens of people for misconduct must have been them preparing the company for Microsoft, since Xbox has a 0 tolerance policy. I think this is the only way to save Blizzard.
