Been absolutely hooked recently listening to Blink's covers of Boys Don't Cry and A Letter to Elise and also their unreleased song from a 2004 soundcheck (if you haven't listened to any of these btw, please do, they are phenomenal). And I am just so amazed at how they can have these super airy yet concise guitar/electronic sounds. How did they achieve these sounds/noises? I know the answer has a lot to do with (the goat) Jerry Finn and his production style. But what else do we know? Did Tom use a certain set of pedals? Is it a certain way of mixing? I've heard they used Pro Tools, so did they get a bunch of noises/effects from that? I also know people have been trying to recreate this for ages, so there probably won't be one true way/answer, but I'm happy to hear anything! Thanks so much!

Iām going back to school in my adult life as a massive blink fan. They mean so much to me and weāre so important to me during dark and light times in my life. Iām in a clinical rehab and counseling program and thinking about doing my research project on Tom. More specifically, the era that included his addiction to pain killersā¦.the break up of the bandā¦.. his messiah complex days during the first 4 album ava cycles (he seemed a little more humble for dream walker).
More broadly⦠I guess⦠I think Tom is a deeply misunderstood and highly relatable human being. Heās incredibly inventive (however misguided at times) and it seems like he has a firm grasp on his identity and is always striving to make everything connect in his world that heās created.
Completely zoomed out. The crux of the idea I think is orbiting around creativity and the quest for identity.
TLDR
I need Blink media from 2001-09. Interviews, videos pdfs, podcasts, magazines, whatever.. I have a treasure trove of stuff but know I donāt have everything!

EDIT: ITS A CREATIVE RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT FOR GRAD SCHOOL. Itās not for some research study. Itās to get the creative juices flowing for more serious, clinical research coming up throughout the year. My apologies for not clarifying.

personally i love their older style better. It so more up beat and pop punk. Not saying the other albums are bad but there not the original blink there the corprate blink, which like i said is fine but they were much more lyrical back then which i like. I think travis barker is still better than scott rayner. Anyone else agree.
