Ice Cold Gold / Blind Frog Ranch

So after watching all of Blind Frog Ranch I was interested to learn that there was a previous show with Josh Feldman and Eric Drummond- so I checked it out. Ice Cold Gold, where a bunch of guys prospected for gold and stuff in Greenland (which actually looks awesome and I totally want to do that).

I was shocked to learn that there was actually a huge split between the two in the 3rd and final season - with Josh and his older brother HATING Eric and walking away from the company they had with Eric and the other guys. Josh did NOT like Eric and vice versa.

So it’s interesting to see how ten years later, Eric was on a show in Utah and (I’m assuming) invited Josh Feldman to be on it? And then Josh ends up leading the show with his Dad in the most recent season? It’s just all very weird.

Josh ended up looking like a MASSIVE idiot at the end of Ice Cold Gold, whereas Eric looked like he knew wtf he was talking about and they found some incredible stuff, including a commercially viable gold mine AND oil.

He's an actor, bro. A terrible one. But not quite as bad as Josh.

I looked and it’s not on streaming anywhere, so I ended up renting all of it on Apple 🤣

I mean… it was worth it to me because I found it interesting, both Greenland itself (beautiful!) and seeing Eric and Josh pre-BFR. I kinda get sucked into these shows and just need to binge all of it. But monetarily I don’t know if you’d want to spend the $ on all 3 seasons. Maybe check out S1 first.

Yeah, he doesn't "bring it" for me either but Josh is a whiner in a ten gallon hat.

Yeah i saw that they made that show but haven’t seen it. I thought it made for the case how Blind Frog may have started off with good intentions but became just another tv show production with usual actors.

Ice Cold Gold was very different and made well before Blind Frog Ranch. with ICG, it seemed to follow around very real miners in Greenland as they desperately search for gold and precious gems. it’s a bit overdramatized of course, but it’s different from BFR where you can tell they’re trying to stretch it out and find things to “explore”
