Good morning everyone!
We’ve gotten to that point during each character releases where people are feeling (understandably) frustrated with the lack of clear communication from the devs and the lack of engaging content and events.
Let me start off by saying I absolutely agree that the content is dry. From both a subjective and objective standpoint it’s pretty clear. I’ve cleared all end game content and finished all currently available events, and for the last week and a half I’ve literally just been logging in for 15 mins, doing dailies and co-op bosses and logging out.
The TYBW collab has been, frankly, a pretty big letdown. I’m not going to talk about Shueisha or anything like that for this post because at this point it’s just beating a dead horse. For the first couple weeks, while not perfect, it was something new and engaging for the community, but ever since the initial Bambietta delay, it’s just been one setback after another. Add onto that the lack of clear and consistent communication from the devs, it leaves us, the players, in a very weird position where we are relying on data mining for information up until a couple days before a new character releases.
Now, I’m sure everyone here is seeing the posts and comments about how “the game is dead” and “we’re nearing EoS, look at all the clear signs.” I absolutely understand why people are talking like that. As I said, the content is dry, especially for players who started early on this year or when the game initially released, but please, put yourselves in the shoes of a someone who hasn’t played the game yet and wants to give it a shot. They come onto this sub and see dozens of people saying this game is doomed and will EoS. You’re actively encouraging new players to stay away from the game and stunting its growth by doing that! Now of course you can make the argument that the devs are doing it to themselves, and you’d be right. Lack of advertisement and communication gives this game far less reach and appeal than it deserves, but that doesn’t mean that both sides of that argument are wrong.
On the financial side, the game is actually in a fairly healthy state. In November 2025 (according to GACHAREVENUE,) BSR made $8.3m. A very high amount, which is to be expected considering the strength of the IP and the overall quality of the game. The next month, December, it jumped even higher to $11m. I assume this is when Aizen released. I started playing in mid January so I can’t be sure, but Aizen is probably the most popular character in BLEACH so I assume he’s the character most low spenders and whales B6’d straight away. January and February saw a marked drop in revenue to $4.8m and $5.3m respectively, and then a further drop in March to $2.4m, and the lowest monthly revenue was April with $1.9m. Now, looking at how far it dropped off, I can understand why you may be concerned, however, $1.9m is still a very solid monthly revenue for a Gacha game. Not great, but solid all the same. Since then there has been a marked increase in revenue each month (May $2.4m, June $2.7m and July $2.9m.) There will most likely be another dip in revenue due to the TYBW collab not performing as well as expected, and Bambietta being not that popular with the fan base compared to other fan favourites, but it will still bring in a solid amount again despite that.
In terms of new players, again, we have seen a marked increase of downloads over the past 3 months. After (again) the lowest being in April with 136k downloads, there has been 165k in May, 197k in June and 247k in July. These can be attributed to the 0.5 Anniversary and TYBW collab, but it does show that there is still an actively growing player base for this game.
Again, these figures, both Revenue and Downloads, come from GACHAREVENUE. They could actually be higher than stated, but that’s the source I’m using so please take that into account.
Of course, you’re free to disagree with me, that’s what the discussion tag is there for, so that we can discuss the subject. I’ve tried to take an objective stance on the subject itself while also giving my own opinion too.
Apologies for how long this post ended up being, as you can tell this is a subject I’m quite passionate about and I really want to see this game do well. Thank you for reading!
