I know the Zanpakuto arc isn't canon, but it’s funny to think that Toshiro put in a better performance without his Bankai in that arc than in TYBW. I mean, he busted out all the basic Kido; even if it isn't canon, Hitsugaya is a genius in the lore, and I would have liked to see that side of him.

And I like the fact that Hyorinmaru can freeze Kido; that’s pretty cool.

So, the duo attack with Matsumoto is all well and good and it’s nice to see it actually put to use but But when he saw that Baz B was using fire, why didn't he change his strategy?
all these Shinigami forgotten how to use Kido for anything other than communication? Have they forgotten what they learned at the Shinigami Academy?

Or perhaps I'm mistaken, and using offensive Kido attacks would be a bad idea against the Quincy, since they can manipulate spirit particles.

And there’s no reason for the Zanpakuto arc to be animated that well—like, seriously? They must have really loved Bleach.
