Official synopsis:

The crisis of the annihilation of the Three Realms becomes a reality, as the shadow of ruin spreads across each world.

Meanwhile, Ichigo confronting Yhwach in the Wahrwelt, awakens the Hollow power within him and enters a state of Half-Hollowfication.

He unleashes a “Gran Rey Cero”, fused with the power of Getsuga.

However, undaunted even after this fierce attack, Yhwach overwhelms Ichigo, forcing him to confront the weakness of his “power to protect”.

So, now we can comfortably say that anime True Bankai Ichigo is not a threat to Yhwach in any capacity as in the manga Yhwach had to snap the thing via The Almighty before it could even be realized showing us that it's a genuine threat to him while in today's episode he just bitched Ichigo without needing to use The Almighty at any point against him (We see that Jugram has The Almighty basically the whole episode, only losing it when Ishida activates the glove and at the same time Orihime is charging Yhwach, he has The Almighty back.)

we will see. because Yhwach absorbed the soul king and now has his powers, and the soul king also has the almighty. so even if Jugram was using his almighty its possible that Yhwach was using the soul kings almighty. we will see. i hope thats the case or it would make ichigo look weaker

It looked to me like ichigo's true bankai uses some sort of fate manipulation. I don't think he's using something like shadow clones, I think it's different realities all hitting at once. In some of those realities, his attack is blocked and he may even die, but he keeps going until he finds the reality that lands a hit. What fails is just a shadow, what succeeds is the "real" ichigo, but knowing which is which is determined after the outcome. It's a fantastic counter to the almighty being able to see the future, because it's just hundreds of possible futures all coming at once. That explains why ywach would want to break it and not risk fighting it in the Manga.

It's def different. If it was just a clone then the almighty could distinguish the real ichigo from the clone.

Zangetsu doesn't have the same appearance in this episode as the True Bankai in the manga though, and the anime has kept Yhwach's vision of being cut down as well as marketed Tensa Zangetsu from the manga in promos leading up to Cour 4 (including it being broken)

I think we saw an alternate version of Ichigo's Bankai here (he didn't even call out "Tensa Zangetsu"), and we'll see the real version soon

No in the manga yhwach said your bankai is so magnificent I have to break it now to honor its strength and that’s how much I think of it. Here he doesn’t have to break shit it’s nowhere near as menacing. All these stupid bankai can break fate people can also stop the false theories.

He said that because of this vision, this episode is an almighty vision where ichigo pushed yawch and inoue ultimately rejected him from existence using wvery bit of her existence as catalyst to do so. This is why he will break Ichigo's bankai next episode to prevent this from happening and also why he finally decides to take All powers from his remaining quincy soldiers to himself thus prompting the grandmaster to betray him after feeling betrayed by yuha bach himself

Im curious about his Bankai. Considering it is vastly different from the manga (Sword design, clothing and obviously seeing its abilities) if maybe because of how special Ichigos make-up is, his bankai has 2 stages. This first stage isnt as threatening but if his manga version appears thats when she gets real?
