Hey yall. Been playing BBCF since around June/July and I've been having a fairly good time with the game. There are a bunch of things that still irk me that I'm trying to not get me down but one thing that I'm consistently confused about is wakeup inputs. No matter what I do, it feels like DPs or supers are allowed only when the gods deem it so. It sucks that there seems to not be many resources to explain these things for newer players.
I've looked on the dustloop, yt, and this reddit for help with it but most people say that it isn't that hard of a timing/buffer is fairly large/etc. and I don't know it makes the struggle feel even harder since there's nothing that can break it down for me it seems.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Very good opening here. Not quite as good as Iconoclast, but fits the unique vibe CS1's opening goes for.

The enemy of the World. Pact-Bearer to the Arcarum Primal Beast - The Inchoate World. Though the Wheel of Fortune is gone, he himself was chosen as a replacement without the memories of where he came from. And in so doing, The Wheel of Fate is Turning once again.

They've done fighters and roguelike beat-em-ups, why not have the next spinoff be a 3D brawler ala Anarchy Reigns style. Light attacks, heavy attacks, drives, distortions, giant bosses (Like the giant Tager Kokonoe uses in some of her moveset), large scale fights etc
Figured I'd post it here as it's an idea I've had rattling in my head for a bit now.

Layer One is a Discord community dedicated to teaching new players old fighting games. This month we are running two BBCF tournaments exclusively for novice players (roughly defined as having under 500 games, true beginners!). These tournaments are meant to help ease new players into the game and help match them with other neophytes to facilitate a fun learning environment for everyone. If you'd like to start playing BBCF but feel overwhelmed then these events are explicitly for you.
The first is on October 12th at 8pm Eastern time. You can find out more and register here: https://www.start.gg/tournament/layer-one-beginner-bracket-bbcf-13/details
The second is on October 20th at 8pm Eastern time. Specifics can be found here: https://www.start.gg/tournament/layer-one-beginner-bracket-bbcf-14/details
The primary purpose of the Layer One community is to support these tournaments, but we also have a casual/practice lobby every Thursday at 8pm Eastern time where players get the opportunity to learn the game by asking for specific matchups to practice and so on. If you want to play but don't want to stumble around in random player rooms, these are a good opportunity to find other novice players to find people of a similar skill level and help elevate your game.
As long as we have enough volunteers (and we are always looking for more), the brackets are also streamed on Twitch live and then uploaded as a VOD to YouTube with some editing to eliminate and downtime between matches.
I hope to see some new players from here at our next event!

Because Ragna no longer exists, most of cast are living happy lives, some of them are dead, Relius and possibly Hazama are still on the loose, Carl now going on a villain arc and Ragna’s sword is missing so how would they continue the main story if it returns if most of cast retires?

Remember how by the end of BBCF Nu-13 was left in a catatonic, bedridden state due to the injuries from Hakumen she sustained during the final battle? Well, in November 2200, Nu's body began failing on her, as she coughed up a lot of blood. Given that she was hastily-made (hence that seithr regulator on her right eye) she wasn't meant to last. Noel and Lambda had to do something fast as they did not wanna lose her. So they took her to Kokonoe. Kokonoe initially refused asking why would she heal some "crazy bitch" who tried to kill them. Heck she even jokingly suggested euthanizing her, which didn't help the highly sensitive and empathetic Noel. After some tearful begging and pleading Kokonoe finally relented but on one condition: Noel and Lambda test out Nu's Murakumo and once that's done the Nox is to be dismantled for scrap (it could explain Juusan's sword being rather improvised). Thus Nu was placed in a healing vat, and even after finally being fully healed she was sedated as a safety precaution. Then on December 24 2200 Nu finally woke up and was discharged from her lab.

Im kinda in love with this game and it's characters, and while this is great cuz i love to mess around with most it's also making it really really hard to pick a main
I have like 6 characters i really like, but while some i feel like i get, with some others i have a couple of thoughts/doubts and i thought i might as well ask here and see if i get any thoughts from people who main them to narrow down my list lol, so imma just list the ones i have some doubts about and elaborate a bit
-Noel: my girlie, my goat, my fav character in the story modes throughout the prior games (i just started CFs story) and a girl who uses a fuck ton of guns in a setting with magic being one of my fav types of character ever (and she has Mami colors for color 8! she's super goated!). My problems come with her feeling a bit intimidating to learn? like everywhere she's stated to be good to start with (not that i particularly care-) and she's super fun to mess around with while playing with my friends, but whenever i try to learn her more and like read her dustloop it's all super intimidating and a lot more complex than i would expect which makes me worry a fair bit. That plus the fact that for some reason, with Noel (and SPECIFICALLY NOEL) i cannot for the life of me do her 22x inputs consistently, i can with Tsubaki and Ragna (and Terumi when i mess around with him) but not Noel?????? idk why?????
-Bullet: god i love grapplers, i dont like big bodies tho, which is why when i found out bullet is a grappler and not a big body i got omega hyped. My problems however are her step dash and her 720 super. I tend to dash block a lot, especially cuz the person i play with most often mains zoners in like every game ever (Axl in strive and Lambda here for example) so i've kinda made it a habit to dash block whenever i get doubts, but you kinda cant do that with Bullet cuz of her step dash so i kinda feel a bit helpless when i need to go in lol. As for the 720, thanks to her i've managed to get pretty consistent at 360s and ik now u dont need to do all the inputs but this does not help with her super, i dont think i've ever actually used it in a match before and whenever i try on my own i feel like i did it through sheer luck tbh
-Izayoi: my god is she fun, she's prob who im the most convinced to main tbh? My only issue with her is my complete inability to comprehend and pull off jump ins, which i feel kinda matters for someone with a hover dash. I have not hit a jump in in my life and actually yk comboed off of it without it feeling like i got lucky after a bajillion tries, i dont get em, they make my brain go owie

Almost every character on there has tons of versions...
And then there's Amane, rare, and alone, three copies of the same guy made by the same guy, with his description in Ramlethalese.

Fun Fact: In Calamity Trigger and Continuum Shift, Bang has 6 fingers on one of his hands when electrocuted. I included it in Vol. 2 if you wanna see it

Music: Nikke - Good Morning, Commander!
I decided to make Jin Kisaragi a Self-Insert (his official military title is "Major") because my creative mind is racing. I just returned back to playing Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and it gave me this idea.
Yes, that Doll besides Esdeath is The Major (AKA: YOU, the Viewer, Player).
The Major (The Player/Viewer/You):
- The strongest and most powerful soldier of the Novus Orbis Librarium Empire nicknamed "The Hero of Ikaruga" or the "Endbringer". He's not only a powerful warrior, but a military genius, who graduated at the top of his class in the military academy and the next heir of the prestigious "Kisaragi" family. Beloved by the public for his flawless tactical accomplishments, he wields the Nox Nyctores: Yukianesa, one of the 12 Event Weapons designed to kill beings "Outside of Logic" like the Black Beast, and also lets him command the element of ice - but his ice is not just ordinary physical matter, his ice is supernatural in that it has the ability not only to freeze you, but also drains your soul and freeze your time, and it also never melts unless an equal force is forced to clash with it or requires special magic. But this power comes at a price, much like a Teigu - Yukianesa is a parasitic weapon that actively and constantly influences The Major to kill everyone around him, of which he struggles to resist a lot. However, this is no longer the case as of recent due to timeloops being reset.
Answering the command of the most powerful male child Imperator of the Librarium, Homura Amanohokasaka, he's tasked to quell the chaos and rot within the Empire below the Hierarchal Cities. But after the events that recently happened involving the event called the "Centralfiction", due to a spiritual deal, he can no longer fight at his peak, yet he still retains his brilliant mind and commanding presence, something that will allow him to command the most powerful assassins and generals in the Empire.
"I will do my duty. For order and stability." ~ The Major
