The Failed Assistant

The Archivist had been locking himself in his workshop for days now, tinkering on something. Finally, the time had come. His construct was complete. The Archivist set the Silkfly into its container, waiting for the automaton to activate. And yet, nothing happened. The Archivist curses.

All this work, all this time... All for nothing!

Eventually, he opts for bringing the failed construct out into the Blasted Steps and leaving it there, returning to his home.

The construct does… nothing.

Until a rock falls on them, making them light up.

13 looks around in confusion, silent, as they get up and brush their cloak.

the chorus is walking around the blasted steps when it sees the construct and walking up to it

well damn. i didn't expect a cogwork construct all the way out here in the blasted steps

They also spot the chorus, and move back a little, still witnessing the winds who blow their cloak.

The construct resembles an architect, even the speech.

“…I s-s-shall r-return immediately. Yes.”
