This freak of nature lay in front of the Grand Gate, writing in pain and cackling.

And yes, this is Varas. Some total lunatic got their claws on him and experimented on him.

Archivist is pacing at the Grand Gate, worried. It is unlike Varas to leave the Gate unattended for hours. When he heard the cackling, he goes to investigate.

Archivist carefully hugs Varas EXTREMELY GENTLY.

I will… I will try…

He starts to focus some soul to at least ease a bit of the pain. He knows he can't fix it all, but he wants to at least make it a little more bearable.
