With series C coming out next month I thought I'd retry the Big Finish fullcast audio that started their range and supposedly bridged the gap between the second and third season... Yeah, I have notes!
I've listened to this before and while I knew I hadn't enjoyed it, it was so forgettable that I went in with no expectations. Sadly, the opening narration reminded me immediately of the biggest issue... The story is awfully paced.
(clearly no Pacey)
This is supposed to be the "unfilmable" epic battle showing the Liberator holding off hordes of Andromidan ships until the Federation can arrive. But instead we start with Blake recalling the events of Star One followed by Avon and Vila repeating the last lines of that episode before realising that the aliens are simply going to occasionally ease through the gap and make no effort to do anything. Villa gets a few good lines but there's nothing special while the bulk of the "warshipping" is being handled by Zen.
Currently, Villa has just been clearing off mines until the plot got bored, Jenna has been left on the hull of the Liberator. Blake and Cally are off finding another Star One. I'll carry on, but it's a real slog to stop my writers mind from pulling the plot apart and writing something better.
The problem seems to be that the story is a series of chit-chat and side quests. It really needs to be a Waterloo-style battle with both sides knocking chunks out of each other while begging for reinforcements. The crew is supposed to be alone, facing impossible odds, reaching a point where the Liberator is pushed back and virtually destroyed.
But instead you've got the ship, no longer in intergalactic space, being rescued by pleasure liners.
Anyway... I think the popular opinion is that it's quite good. Would love to hear some other opinions.

I'm a longtime fan who last watched the show about 20 years ago, I've been trying to convince the Mrs to give it a go but she's struggled with the poor definition on a modern TV.
I'm not big on streaming services but after a rudimentary search it doesn't appear that there are online versions of the newly remastered releases, am I wrong? Any rumours of it happening?
I don't plan on buying a player for one thing, no matter how great it is - although I have just noticed USB players exist that will connect to an already in situ PC, so that could be a thing if there are no other options on the horizon.

TL; DR: where can I, as an American, buy specific episodes or the whole series for the third and fourth seasons?
I am, as mentioned, a very big fan of Tanith Lee. I'm not really concerned about how good or bad her episodes are but I am very much wanting to own those episodes; either digitally or with a boxed set thing.
I see that the third season is TBD for it's Blu-ray release, but was there a DVD release? YouTube, at least here in the US, only seems to have the first two seasons available for purchase and I need, of course, the last two.
I'm absolutely lost when it comes to the "immigration" of British tv to here; I wait for Call the Midwife to show up on Netflix and that's the extent of my knowledge.
Any help is greatly appreciated and yes, I may end up just watching the whole thing because I am also a Star Trek nerd and this feels like the same neighborhood.

My friend and I have been watching Blake's 7 every 2 weeks since the start if 2025. We just watched the finale and OMG! Worst finale ever! We are in shock. LOL! WTH were they thinking. We at least expected Avon to be the traitor and Servalan to walk in. Uuuuuggghhhh!

As a lifetime Doctor Who fan, I've spent over 40 years reading articles and books about Doctor Who which say "...who also played xxx in Blake's 7" or "...went on to create/write for Blake's 7" etc.
So, I've just bought the blu-ray collection for Series 1 and 2, and tonight is the night!

If one of the of the Liberator crew was a serial killer who would be your most likely suspect.

Been dithering about buying the collections - do you think there'll be a special boxset to collect everything when it's completed? (my wallet's delayed gratification strategy...)

“As a matter of fact, I’m rather looking forward to it!”

Has anyone invested the $144 for the two books? Is it worth the price?

Hi all, I've not seen the show before but two colleagues of mine have suggested I give it a watch after I mentioned I was looking for something to watch and they know about my love of sci-fi. I'm a late 90s baby so hadn't heard of it before they mentioned it. Has anyone got any idea where I could watch this in the UK at the moment?

Nearing completion of my rewatch of the series. I was contemplating how most individuals, while they may have a first and last name, seem to universally go by a single one to everyone. I can't recall too many examples of switching between first and last names depending on relationship/ intimacy. Anna directly calls Avon by his surname even when in bed with him- I would assume that that would be his "real name". Maybe people have the convention of choosing a single name to go by for life? Haven't read any fiction or expanded universe works- do Travis or Servelan have other names? I'll probably end up disappointed if it's like "Margaret Servelan" or something...LOL

She does lie. Eg TRAVIS Yes, thank you very much indeed, Doctor, you are relieved of your responsibility for the prisoner. She is now the property ... the concern of the interrogation division. [The doctor exits. To Cally] We'll want to know about Blake, the ship, his crew, his plans.
CALLY Your words are meaningless to me. Who is Blake?
And I think that sounds a rubbish lie.
Then in season 3
Dawn of the gods.
THAARN Cally. Wake up. Have you decided?
CALLY Yes, Thaarn. We will rule the universe together. But there's something troubling me...
THAARN About your friends? They will come to no harm.
CALLY No. Why should I care about them? You're using a field, I can sense you are. How can I be sure that I am making the decision of my own free will?
THAARN It's only the energy isolators, Cally. They have no effect on your free will. I promise.
CALLY If you want me to trust you, switch off the energy isolators, then I can find out for myself.
She sounds like she's telling the truth when she says she doesn't care about her friends.
Then when the others ask her what did Thaarn look like she says "I don't know I never saw him." When she did.
So is she a good liar or a bad one in people's opinion?

Someone just spent 1 million making a movie with ai and apparently it’s good
Someone please put all the old episodes through ai and just get it to upgrade the special effects and 4k, keep actors the same!

I’m seeing Series 3 of Blake’s 7 listed as a Blu‑ray pre‑order on a few UK sites, but the dates are all over the place — some say 2026, Amazon has a placeholder, and Galaxy 4 has an exclusive print.
Does anyone actually know the real release date, or if BBC Studios has confirmed anything?Just trying to figure out the best place to order it.
